Position Summary

PG&E is seeking a highly motivated and capable program manager for the Enterprise Health and Safety Office Ergonomics Program. The Office Ergonomics Program Manager will work in collaboration with other ergonomics program managers to implement the strategic objectives of the musculoskeletal injury prevention program.

 

Program managers serve as trusted resources for safety-related information and provide oversight to contractors delivering program services, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and expectations.

 

Working in partnership with all functional areas, the primary objective of this role is to successfully manage the office ergonomics program across the enterprise to reduce ergonomic risks and promote employee health and wellbeing.

 

This role is responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining programs, systems, policies, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and the overall safety and health of employees. The Program Manager will communicate program strategy and requirements to leadership, establish quality control procedures, and promote broad adoption of ergonomics best practices.

 

The position requires strong customer focus, project management expertise, and the ability to collaborate across functional teams in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment while working both independently and strategically.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

 

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $​122,000

Bay Area Maximum: $​194,000

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and audit governing documents for the Office Ergonomics Program
  • Partner with key stakeholders to define program scope, objectives, roles, and responsibilities
  • Drive adoption and implementation of program elements across the enterprise
  • Coordinate with other ergonomics program managers to ensure alignment and consistency
  • Develop key performance metrics to evaluate program effectiveness in reducing office-based musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs)
  • Collaborate with functional teams to meet reporting requirements and ensure data accuracy
  • Design and enhance reporting tools to measure program impact and outcomes
  • Develop and manage the internal ergonomics champion program
  • Manage ergonomics risk management databases, including case tracking and reporting
  • Oversee ergonomics evaluation scheduling systems and break reminder platforms
  • Partner with vendors to manage ergonomics equipment ordering, contracts, and issue resolution
  • Maintain ergonomics equipment standards and establish formal review processes for new equipment
  • Conduct audits and reviews of program performance, reporting, and compliance
  • Assist in onboarding and mentoring ergonomics evaluators to ensure consistent service delivery
  • Develop and deliver training programs and presentations to employees and leadership
  • Promote awareness and engagement to support ergonomic risk reduction
  • Define program strategy and prioritize initiatives aligned with departmental goals
  • Support integration of ergonomics initiatives into broader safety programs

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • BA / BS degree or equivalent experience
  • 7 years of safety and program development/management experience in a construction, utility, or industrial environment, or master’s degree in safety specific area and 5 years of safety and program development experience in a construction, utility, or other industrial environment.

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • 3+ years of experience providing office ergonomics services and/or managing an office ergonomics program with 7+ years of experience preferred in office ergonomics program management or service delivery
  • Professional ergonomics certification (CPE, AEP, CAE, CIE, or equivalent)
  • Vendor management experience
  • Knowledge of office ergonomics equipment and furnishings
  • Familiarity with Ariba or similar systems
