Department Overview
PG&E’s Corporate Real Estate Strategy and Services (CRESS) organization is responsible for governing, planning, acquiring, designing constructing, operating, and maintaining 7.7 million square feet of facilities throughout PG&E’s 72,000 square mile service territory. These facilities include but are not limited to service centers, data centers, office buildings, warehouses, construction and equipment yards, vehicle maintenance garages, conference centers, and training facilities.
- The Printing and Graphics department in CRESS is responsible for:
- Printing: High-speed, fully digital printer/copiers print color and black-and-white copies, including large format digital print, in high resolution that are clearer and sharper than printing from analog photocopies.
- Finishing and binding: Variety of options and support to provide professional collateral materials.
- Meeting coworker needs: Strong emphasis on customer service and understanding the importance of partnering with our clients to support print needs.
Located in West Sacramento with the latest printing equipment, production includes printing copies, posters, signs, pamphlets, door hangers, brochures, and more. The experienced staff has the knowledge and experience to provide different options for the best printing and graphic solutions.
Position Summary
The printing production supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the print shop facility to ensure that high-quality printed materials are produced efficiently and on schedule. The supervisor is the bridge between the production floor and management, coordinating the work of operators and technicians to meet client specifications.
- Ensure production processes are in line with company and regulatory requirements
- Implement relevant emergency response procedures during emergency situations
- Regularly checking the machinery and checkpoints to ensure safe and efficient workflow
- Compile reports about production and providing management with updates
- Manage the repair or replacement of faulty production equipment
- Ensure all resources and assets are used efficiently and correctly
- Participate in the Facilities Coordination Center (FCC) that supports company Emergency Operations.
- Operate in compliance with regulatory, company and departmental guidance.
- Able to work with significant functional area leaders and stakeholders to provide strategy and solutions.
Ability to travel at least 20% of the time throughout PG&E’s territory.
Onsite position
PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be around the minimum and the midpoint. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Responsibilities:
- Production Oversight & Scheduling: Manage daily production schedules, assign tasks to personnel, and monitor workflows to ensure all deadlines are met. Plan, oversee, monitor, and implement compliance, training and preventative maintenance (PM) programs including the coordination of vendors and other service providers in conjunction with staff to perform required activities. Maximize value creation through flawless execution of print production basics (on-time/on-budget, work order completion) with a focus on cost containment, optimal equipment utilization, quality maintenance, repair, and installation workflow, maximum vendor, and labor productivity.
- Quality Control: Review in-progress and finished work (check for color accuracy, alignment, and clarity) to ensure it meets both company standards and specific client requirements. Ensure successful outcomes of operations, including customer satisfaction, quality, and cost objectives. Assist with process improvement and waste elimination initiatives.
- Staff Management: Hire, onboard, and train employees in the safe and efficient operation of printing and bindery equipment. Conduct regular performance evaluations. Ensure staff and service providers are proactive in building and maintaining client relations.
- Equipment Maintenance: Schedule routine inspections, perform minor repairs, and coordinate with external vendors for major maintenance to minimize downtime. Responsible for the supervision, planning, and scheduling of workflow, service calls, and repair assignments.
- Inventory & Supplies: Monitor stock levels of paper, ink, and other materials, and requisition supplies as needed to prevent production delays.
- Cost Management: Provide cost estimates for jobs, tracking contract expenditures, and identify material waste or labor cost reductions. Approve financial and compliance requirements timely and accurately. Ensure operations are conducted within budget, and financial forecasts are accurate and timely.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure the facility complies with industry regulations and environmental standards. Monitor and review Corrective Action Program (CAP) assignments and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime, overlaps, and other deficiencies.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
- 5 years of print industry experience. Key qualifications include technical knowledge of print equipment, digital, and large format printing processes, strong project management skills, familiarity with OSHA safety regulations, and proficiency in production software.
Desired:
- 3 years of experience leading, supervising, or managing bargaining unit employees
- Experience with financial/budget administration, reporting, process improvement, and procedure development
- Experience with customer service call and data processing centers and emergency response operations and systems
- Experience with the management of building, facility, and/or office management operations and systems
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering, Facility Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related discipline
- Lean Six Sigma Certification
