Position Summary

The Central Design & Estimating organization is responsible for idle facility investigations, help mitigate liabilities in our overhead distribution system.  Candidates will lead team of Engineering Assistances and help ensuring standards are followed, adhering to the engineering and work prioritization/approval process, managing and controlling the scope of work, maintaining a focus on accuracy, while ensuring customer and regulatory expectations are met.

 

Candidate will also be responsible for leading engineering assistance in daily operating reviews, Safety Training and in-person person meetings. 

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned location based on business need. Travel for this position is about 15% with occasional overnight stays.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

 

A reasonable salary range is:

  • Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area)    $129,000.00
  • Mid Base Salary (Bay Area)    $168,000.00
  • Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area)    $207,000.00

 

  • Minimum Base Salary (California)    $123,000.00
  • Mid Base Salary (California)    $160,000.00
  • Maximum Base Salary (California)    $197,000.00

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise team of idle facility investigators, provide assistance and guidance when escalated. Maintain good communication with our business partners and peers. (30%)
  • Manage technical employees to ensure adherence to company standards, policies and procedures by members of the workgroup, and enforce all applicable company, city, state and federal safety rules and regulations. (30%)
  • Develop and maintain an environment that fosters a high-performance culture and a learning organization.
  • Lead a management team in promoting diversity.
  • Serve as a change agent for business initiatives and assure the human element is understood and considered. Assure timely recognition of employee contributions and develop technical capabilities in the organization. (20%)
  • Establish, maintain and improve relationships with other departments. (20%)

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 3 years of job-related experience
  • 2 years of utility/construction/urban planning experience including experience with service planning, estimating, project management, technical customer service and/or other relevant experience.
  • Valid Drivers License

 

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Leadership experience, job-related, 2 years
  • Knowledge of utility industry safety practices and requirements.
  • Knowledge of the California Public Utility Commission General Orders (GO) 95, 128
  • Knowledge of electric distribution construction practices.
  • Knowledge of estimating approval process.
  • Working knowledge of the Work Management Process, SAP and
  • Working knowledge of bargaining unit contracts
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills to effectively build relationships and manage subordinates.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP
