Department Overview

Printing and Bill Presentment (PBP) prints, inserts and mails over 300,000 documents per day. These include energy statements, credit notices, customer letters and checks, including payroll. The department interfaces with many internal clients including, but not limited to Bill Presentment, Customer Communications, Credit, Billing Operations and Payment Services to produce work per established service level agreements (SLAs). Regarding output, PBP hands off mail to either the US Postal Service (USPS) directly or to contracted pre-sort vendors. There are multiple USPS regulations and standards that must be maintained to a significant postage discount for the company. We’re seeking motivated, self-directed, knowledgeable individuals to join our team and be a part of this exciting advancement of PG&E’s Billing Operations team.

 

Position Summary

Supports PBP Operations through monitoring, reporting, analysis of paperless billing workstream and completion of ad-hoc requests from internal stakeholders. Monitors print functionality and quality to ensure service level agreements are met by operations. Conducts forecasting, data analysis and reporting in support of business decision making, strategy and operations. Participates in business process improvement, quality control and other initiatives. Develops, manages and coordinates performance and quality assessment, business process re-engineering, change management, communication and training. Associates in this position will be expected to achieve business results through effective communications, collaboration, analysis, and positive leadership behaviors.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. 

 

A reasonable salary range is:


California Minimum: $93,000
California Maximum: $139,000
 

Responsibilities typically include many or all of the following: 
•    Data Analysis: Compiles and analyzes data. May develop and/or maintain data models for what-if analysis and for other business purposes.
•    Metrics and Reporting: Develops and tracks business metrics. Develops and maintains standard, custom and ad-hoc reports.
•    Budgeting & Forecasting: Develops or works with budgets and forecasts.
•    Research: Researches best practices; develops internal and external benchmarks in support of business decisions.
•    Quality Assurance & Business Process Improvement: May perform quality assurance and business process improvement activities in support of the business. Activities may include developing, managing or coordinating performance or quality assessment, business process re-engineering, change management, communication and training.
•    Project Management: Lead projects, determining scope, budget, timeframes, forming teams, assigning tasks, managing resources and issues.

Job Responsibilities
•    Forecasting of various workstreams and costs associated with day to day operations of those workstreams.
•    Develops and uses metrics to develop recommendations related to business strategy and operations. Presents findings and recommendations to leaders.
•    Manages small to mid-size projects.
•    Performs analysis on complex data models requiring customized reports and data.
•    Assists in monitoring, tracking growth and metrics as well as vendor management process for paperless billing
 

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum
•    Bachelor of Science in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent work experience required. 
•    4 years of related work experience 
 
Desired
•    Intermediate to advance Excel Skills (i.e. pivot tables, indexing, Vlookups, etc.)
•    Previous experience with print production
•    Experience using SQL
•    Understanding of PG&E’s Paperless billing and e-bill workstreams
•    Previous experience with vendor management
•    Creative problem-solving skills to develop solutions
•    Strong presentation and communication skills to deliver findings and recommendations to various levels of management
•    Knowledge and understanding of key drivers affecting business results
•    Excellent organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
•    Adaptable to changing business conditions and ambiguity
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office
