Position Summary

 

The Senior External Threat Intelligence Specialist will deliver information security services in support of PG&E's enterprise security goals and objectives. You will utilize a variety of commercial and custom tools and processes to provide information security services and intelligence. You will design improvised solutions on the fly when dealing with active threats. You will also produce metrics and statistics that feed complimentary processes within the PG&E landscape such as risk assessment, OSINT monitoring, weekly crime reports, and trend analysis.

 

This position reports in-person daily Monday – Friday, normal business hours, at the Security Control Center in Vacaville, CA. Additional travel may be required to other PG&E offices and locations such as Oakland General office or the San Ramon office based on business needs.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.​


A reasonable salary range is:​

 

Bay Area Minimum: $122,000.00

Bay Area Maximum: $194,000.00
 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Use intelligence feeds to maintain situational awareness to identify, track, and monitor emerging security threats and trends regarding threats to PG&E, the utility industry, and US critical infrastructure
  • Monitors social media platforms for physical threat intelligence as it relates to PG&E assets
  • Designs and implements improvements to current security services, tools, processes, and procedures
  • Perform complex system administration tasks (e.g., customization, cross-tool integration) for security tools
  • Prepare briefs on strategic intelligence issues for senior management
  • Ability to analyze malware/exploits through forensics, observation of network traffic and using other tools and resources to determine if PG&E systems are vulnerable
  • Develop intelligence reports and advisories on security risks to employees and operations
  • Provide subject matter expertise on security analysis services, tools, processes, and procedures, mentoring junior team members, and improving services
  • Effectively prioritize multiple high-visibility projects and coordinate resources
  • Work collaboratively with internally and externally cross functional teams to research and develop intelligence work efforts.
  • Designs and implements improvements to current security services, tools, processes, and procedures

Qualifications

 

Minimum:

 

  • High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
  • 4 years job-related experience, to include experience in cyber or physical security intelligence work


Desired:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Industry specific Intelligence Certification
