Position Summary

Ensures security response to alarms, incidents, and events affecting PG&E assets. Work with LOB contacts to address potential security and regulatory compliance issues. Specialists lead contract security operators to execute physical security operations/monitoring and support corporate security in their effort to protect the Bulk Electric System (BES).

 

The position is 100% onsite at the Security Control Center(SCC) in Vacaville and or backup site in Fairfield.

 

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

 

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $31.50/hour to $49/hour

 

Job Responsibilities

  Assists with resolution of immediate security concerns (e.g., events, law enforcement info requests, incidents, and alarms).

  Standardizes and automates access control processes, partnering with the Line of Business contacts.

  Provides support on NERC/CIP initiatives regarding access control procedures and database activities and assists in CIP-006 background check activities.

  Ensures compliance with legal, Federal and State regulations.

  Provides support in composing and proofreading correspondence / documents and in compiling data for standard reports.

  Responds to data requests for areas such as incident investigations, compliance and regulatory audits, or customer inquiries.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma

  Experience in security

  CA Class C License, or equivalent

  Ability to travel up to 10 percent of working time

This position requires flexibility to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings and nights, weekends and holidays.

 

Desired:

  Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience

  Military experience

  Experience in dispatching

  Experience in law

  Leadership experience, security operation centers, or related

  NERC-North American Electric Reliability Corporation certification
