Department Overview

The Prevention and Response team develops, manages, and governs processes, projects, systems, emergency readiness, and response operations from an All-Hazards standpoint across the PG&E enterprise. The team operates within the Strategy and Execution organization of the Emergency Preparedness and Response department. 

 

Position Summary

Participates in designing, maintaining, and operational use of Emergency Preparedness plans, processes, standards, tools, and programs, aiding the company’s ability to respond to hazards across the service territory.  Support and use of software applications responsible for providing  training, exercises,  drills, and risk communications to  coworkers in various departments involved in emergency planning and business continuity. Responsibilities also include the coordination of preparedness activities with internal and external partners to support an effective readiness posture to identified hazards. Supports response operations in the company Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in both training and real-world incidents and events.

  • This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

 

Bay Minimum: $102,000
Bay Maximum: $162,000

CA Minimum: $97,000
CA Maximum: $154,000

 

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 
 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Reviews and updates plan template format and content and train team-mates and clients in use of templates.
  • Designs and implements new programs to support the  emergency functions.
  • Performs Business  Impact Analysis in support of the company  business continuity system.
  • Facilitates development and maintenance  of business continuity planning and exercise,
  • Participates   on project teams to plan, schedule, and conduct a wide range of complex Emergency Preparedness drills and oversees the scenario development portion of the exercise.
  • Participates in annual functional Company exercise design and execution.
  • Supports rotating on-call duty of the Emergency Operations Center.
  • Acts as SME for department technology.
  • Delivers training across various systems to support all programmatic areas.
  • Represents the company in contacts with other utilities, various industry boards, conferences, committees, regulatory agencies, governmental bodies, and other private organizations. 
     

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

 

  • High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
  • Job-related experience, 5 years

 

Desired:

 

  • Experience in electric operations, job-related
  • Experience in transmission operations
  • BCP-Business Continuity Planning experience and/or certification
  • ICS-Incident Command System certification
  • NERC-
  • ~EOC-Emergency Operations Center Training completed
