Senior Manager, Gas Transmission and Distribution

 

Department Overview:

Gas Operations is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers.  Gas Operations is responsible for all aspects of PG&E's gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response.

 

 

Position Summary:

The Construction Services group manages the Spoils, Traffic Control, Construction Mats and Paving processes.  These services support Gas and Electric work across the enterprise and are critical to the safe and efficient execution of work.

The Work Execution Senior Manager will lead PG&E’s Construction Services Work Execution group and will oversee the adherence to relevant procedures utilized by the organization, utilizing the Lean Plays supporting process improvements, and managing cost.  The team performs quality control oversight, owns the visual management tools, supports the Lean Plays and monitors compliance with processes and procedures.  This position will also work very closely with other groups across the Enterprise including Environmental, Internal Audit, Sourcing, Electric and Gas Operations. In addition to leading support teams, this position will routinely engage with senior leadership and other functional areas. 

The Senior Manager will promote safe work practices while maintaining compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory requirements. They will bring our Purpose, Virtues and Stands to life. 

 

  • This position is a DOT (Department of Transportation) covered classification and is subject to random drug and/or alcohol screening

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

 

A reasonable salary range is:​

 

Bay Area Minimum: $​151,000.

Bay Area Maximum: $​257,000.

&/OR​

California Minimum: $​143,000.

California Maximum: $​244,000.

 

 

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • CA Driver’s License
  • 8 years of related business experience including 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience managing capital, O&M, and labor budgets

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Management, Construction Management, or other related discipline
  • Experience supervising union-represented employees.
  • Experience in a maintenance and construction organization.
  • Experience directing the preparation of schedules, records, and reports of work progress, future projects, and evaluation of completed tasks.
  • Experience managing employee performance to include recognition and the use of the progressive disciplinary process.

  • Assesses complex situations and makes decisions and recommendations for solutions.
  • Ensures a high customer satisfaction by always keeping the internal and external customer needs in the forefront of decision making.
  • Identifies and influences implementation of best practices to improve productivity and safety and to reduce operating costs.
  • Partners and pursues integration with peers, staff departments, matrix organizations and outside agencies to achieve departmental goals and improve overall business results.
  • Establishes assessment systems and monitors activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Leverage the 5 Lean Plays.
  • Engages coworkers in process improvements and takes action on their feedback.
  • Prepares, attends, presents, and participates in meetings such as general staff, safety, Regulatory, Ad Hoc, etc.
  • Develop work force strategy (internal & external).
