Department Overview

The Leaps Work Readiness Team coordinates with LEAPS counterparts and Line of Business (LOB) stakeholders to facilitate the delivery work. The team serves as an intermediary between the LEAPS organization and LOB partners, aiming to ensure that tasks are completed appropriately and on schedule.

 

Position Summary

In this role you will support the LEAPS Work Readiness Team.  This individual will have an openness to a feedback culture, have a strong sense of curiosity and desire to learn and teach others, and have a demonstrated ability to engage effectively with key stakeholders and influence others.  This individual will be responsible for working with the Land, Environmental, and Enterprise Public Works as well as our Lines of business Partners.

This role solves unique and complex program and process problems, anticipating issues and developing innovative process solutions in a collaborative manner to support LEAPS Work Readiness Program objectives and may drive or support major cross functional initiatives/improvement efforts. This role will require strong communication, analytical, problem solving, and excel skills to be successful.  The Program Manager may develop highly complex process tracking systems that have wide range of impacts and application across multiple departments related to PG&E interactions. 

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.  

 

A Reasonable Salary Range:

Bay Area – $102,000-$145,200

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Program Management
    • Act as Program manager for the one of the PG&E Lines of Business
    • With Leadership, effectively engage all end-to-end process/program stakeholders through clearly developed and thoughtful weekly communication and program execution meetings
    • Develop standardized tools, reports and activities to proactively manage program execution and anticipate risks before they yield significant program impacts
    • Identify areas of opportunity and engage stakeholders to influence process improvement activities
  • Process Support
    • Process Mapping
    • Oversight for permit expirations
    • Measurement of quality
    • Oversight for out-year work planning
    • LOB Huddle board Support for Tiered Meetings 
    • Act as Process Support for LEAPS Work Readiness
    • Drive cross-functional engagement among all key stakeholders to oversee process execution and monitor performance associated with the following areas:
  • Integration of Lean Management System practices
    • Works closely with the process and program stakeholders to integrate the lean management methodology and tools within the existing daily, weekly, monthly and annual tasks of program.
    • Supports identification of issues, escalation, problem solving and key stakeholder engagement to develop sustainable solutions.   
  • Program Management Improvement and Support
    • Supports the development of standardized internal practices and utilization of tools and applications to drive consistency and best practice.  

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 6 years of related experience or equivalent

Desired:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent
  • Experience with PG&E metrics development and production
  • Field experience with maintenance, construction and engineering of gas systems (prior gas utility experience)
  • LSS Certification Green Belt or higher
  • Experience in project management or engineering of gas distribution pipeline and station projects
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing complex problems
  • Knowledge of construction and permitting
  • Proven ability to solve problems and influence others without a direct chain of command
  • Fluent in the use of industry standard project management tools and/or current company tools
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to determine root causes of work performance problems
