Position Summary:

Gas T&D Operations Leadership is responsible for managing teams directly or indirectly involved in operations & maintenance of the gas transmission and distribution system including completing all unplanned, emergent work and all mandated program work. Oversight of personnel performing maintenance work, short-cycle construction work, I&R activities and all mandated programs. Manage teams that work on:

  • Complete all unplanned, emergent work
  • Execute the required Operations & Maintenance Plan leak survey, leak repair, I&R, locate & mark, corrosion remediation, and patrolling work as listed in the annual workplan.
  • Document completed work to share with Engineering to update Enterprise Systems (GIS)
  • Make minor adjustments to achieve the workplan as defined by the Asset & Resource Management (<10% variation to original plan)
  • Communicate concerns regarding scope, schedule, and cost to Resource Management for adjustment
  • Manage pressure regulation, odorization, instrumentation assets and inform Asset Management of future needs to incorporate into the yearly Asset Plan Address emergency situations that arise as a first responder
  • Forecast Emergency Work, Maintenance Work, Leak Survey and Leak Repair.
  • Emergency response & fulfillment of Incident Commander role
  • Develop work force strategy (internal & external)
  • Inspect & validate work

Leaders demonstrate safety leadership and promote a safety culture among all employees for themselves, customers, and the general public. Contribute toward Gas Safety Excellence goals by improving safety, reliability and affordability for one or more asset families and one or more life cycles.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

 

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

 

Bay Area Minimum: $​136,000.

Bay Area Maximum: $​232,000.

&/OR

California Minimum: $​129,000.

California Maximum: $​220,000.

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible and accountable for a large geographic area (division) within one of the Gas Transmission, Distribution, or Maintenance & Construction (M&C) Regions, serving customers by providing timely completion of gas maintenance (including stations), gas construction, clearance, transmission & regulatory work, and / or gas damage control.
  • Leads and directs a geographically dispersed team with about 60 to 100 employees overall.
  • Ensures that all work in assigned area is completed within scope schedule and cost and on time, while providing quality service and adhering to safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Manages capital & expense, O&M, and labor budgets
  • Assesses complex field situations and makes decisions and recommendations for solutions
  • Ensures a high customer satisfaction by always keeping the customer needs in the forefront of decision making.
  • Identifies and influences implementation of best practices to improve productivity and safety and to reduce operating costs
  • Partners and pursues integration with peers, staff departments, matrix organizations and outside agencies to achieve departmental goals and improve overall business results.
  • Establishes assessment systems and monitors activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Engages employees in process improvements and takes action on their feedback

Prepares, attends, presents and participates in meetings such as general staff, safety, Ethics and Compliance, Labor Management, Regulatory, Ad Hoc, etc.

 

Qualifications:

Minimum:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

CA Driver’s License

  • 8 years of related business experience including 2 years of supervisory experience.

 

Experience managing capital, O&M, and labor budgets

 

Desired:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Management, Construction Management, or other related discipline

  • Experience supervising union-represented employees.
