Department Overview

Gas Operations is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers. As a whole, Gas Operations is responsible for all aspects of PG&E’s gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response.

 

Position Summary

Construction Services Paving provides resource support throughout the service territory supporting both gas and electric work groups. The Paving team manages the resources to support paving activities related to construction. The Resource Manager is responsible for current and future Construction Services paving management direction. This position coordinates, organizes, and submits requests with appropriate business partners to ensure compliance, contracts management, and vendor management. This position partners with key functional areas to align appropriate communication for swift response and action item completion to meet business demands. Additionally, this position will review all current processes to determine an efficient and cost-effective management course of action that benefits all stakeholders.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

A reasonable salary range is:​

 

Bay Area Minimum: $​132,000.

Bay Area Maximum: $​226,000.

 

&/OR​

California Minimum: $​125,000.

California Maximum: $​215,000.

 

  • This position is a DOT (Department of Transportation) covered classification and is subject to random drug and/or alcohol screening

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversees Resource Supervisors that are responsible for managing the local work plan scheduling, as well as other back-office processes.
  • Ensures that the processes and being followed in accordance with expectations.
  • Working with Business Planning or Investment Planning, monitors capital and expense spending or units and hours to ensure work identified in the plan is completed and that monthly and annual work plan and/or cost targets are achieved.
  • Ensures incidents and near misses are thoroughly investigated and reported in a timely manner.
  • Develops customer-driven work culture, keeping internal and external customers the main focus of work.
  • Uses leadership skills to convey changes and process improvements to associates and subordinates.
  • May review customer surveys for regional and departmental improvements.
  • Partners with superintendents, peers, staff departments and matrix organizations to improve overall business results.
  •  Manages and leads staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management and rewards and recognition.
  • Partners with Business Operations to ensure the region has a clearly defined annual work execution plan.
  • Updates the plan quarterly or as needed to ensure that the identified work is planned and matches the current cycle forecasted budget.
  • Oversees reporting analysts for the region, ensuring that unit reporting/unit cost, PCC monitoring, fleet monitoring and other financial performance is effectively and accurately represented.
  • May partner with city, local, and state officials to ensure proper permit release and follow-up

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 8 years of related business experience including 3 years’ experience supervising employees, including IBEW, and/or ESC-represented employees.

Desired:

  • Experience supervising exempt personnel
  • Experience with regional budget oversight
  • Experience in creating or overseeing the creation of a work schedule
  • Experience identifying gaps and process improvements

  • Basic financial planning and budgeting knowledge.
