Department Overview

Gas Operations Portfolio Management and Planning (GPM&P) executes and resources over $2 Billion worth of Project and Program work. The organization is composed of three teams: Work & Resources Planning, Distribution Portfolio Management, and Transmission Portfolio Management. Partnering with upstream engineering stakeholders and downstream construction stakeholders, our team is responsible for safely delivering the projects on time and on budget to meet program and portfolio targets.

 

Position Summary

This role manages a team of Program Managers and Analysts, overseeing program management and business analytics in support of the broader Gas Portfolio Management and Planning. Accountable for two areas of the business. First is program management which includes in-year performance of budget and units and outer year planning. Second is data analysis, streamlined reporting, performance visibility through dashboard development, and overall problem-solving to improve performance.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

 

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $136,000

Bay Area Maximum: $232,000

&/OR

California Minimum: $129,000

California Maximum: $220,000

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Accountable for creating, maintaining, enhancing and operations tools & databases to ensure that it is kept up to date. Develops, maintains, and enhances database tools. Identifies and solves current gaps in data requirements and ease of access to ensure fast and consistent responses to leadership inquiries.
  • Manages executive oversight activities for Gas project, programs, and portfolios, including development of steering committees, dashboards, scorecards, metrics for visibility
  • Ensures reporting requirements related to program oversight for Gas Transmission & Distribution projects, programs, and portfolio in support of Functional and Process stakeholders
  • Manages project governance reporting and related project management process improvement to improve oversight and performance
  • Conducts benchmarking on best practices and recommends process and/or system improvements
  • Routinely engages partner/functional/cross-functional organizations to gather information/feedback on updates, issues, improvements
  • Represents Gas Portfolio Management & Planning on enterprise-wide committees with decision making authority around strategic plans for enterprise-wide standards, procedures, reporting and/or technology
  • Leads cross-functional teams coordinating with external departments in order to achieve accurate reporting of project, program, portfolio performance results
  • Provides strategic direction to the planning, implementation, administration, maintenance and governance of Gas Operations and enterprise-wide project management and/or reporting tools
  • Responsible for business intelligence and business analysis activities in support of Gas Portfolio Management & Planning
  • Manages team members responsible for very complex data analysis projects; from initial request to presenting data results ensuring that the project is completed within budget and on-time
  • Applies extensive data processing and data analysis expertise in the development of strategy or proposing resolution to complex data issues.
  • Accountable for developing comprehensive reports and analysis for long-term, process and functional issues. Presents/communicates clear, concise and actionable data analyses for clients
  • Leads peers and partner organizations to develop and implement new and/or improved processes, procedures, policies, controls, and best practices to improve Lean engagement, KPIs, goals, efficiencies, regulatory compliance and reduce costs
  • Responses and completes ad hoc data requests, analysis, and other deliverables
  • Partners with Sr. Director and Direct Report team for special projects

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • BA/BS Degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Engineering or other related field or equivalent work experience
  • Job-related experience, 10 years
  • Experience with SAP
  • Experience with Project Management, Program Management

 

Desired:

  • Experience in Gas Utility
  • Experience with writing SQL queries using Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with Power BI/Tableau Desktop Applications
  • Experience with Financial C
  • Experience with Portfolio Management
  • Knowledge of outer year planning process
