Position Summary:
Serves as qualified company representatives responsible for providing direct oversight of activities of inspection contractors. Incumbents are the liaisons between the contractor and all other workgroups that may be involved in the successful completion of the construction project.. Incumbents focus on quality control, quality 
assurance and foster a safe work environment by exhibiting an absolute commitment to safety for self and others.
Requires extensive travel throughout the service territory with work location to be determined.  Travel is approximately 75% with occasional overnight stays.  
• Work is predominantly outdoors and in all weather conditions.  
•  Must be able to drive safely, work extended hours; report/travel to headquarters upon request at any time, and wear company provided Personal Protective 
Equipment.

 

Responsibilities:
• Directly and independently interacts and acts as a subject matter expert with project contractors at the construction worksite. 
• Acts as a liaison between construction activities of project contractors and coordination personnel. 
• Considers and documents compliance   requirements of projects. 
• Conducts Job Site Safety Analysis on site and assures continuing safety. 
• Verifies all job sites are set up to PG&E, and State and Local standards, and permitting requirements. 
• Leads efforts to develop and implement strategies to reduce cross bores. 
• Communicates contractor activities with all of the various stakeholders performing work for project . 
• Provides training to new or less-experienced staff.

• Provides technical guidance to construction specialists and contractors regarding cross bore identification, verification, and mitigation procedures.
• Coordinates with contractors, inspectors, local municipalities, and project stakeholders to resolve cross bore related issues encountered in the field. 
• Performs field audits of contractor activities to ensure adherence to cross bore prevention standards and approved construction practices.
• Leads cross bore prevention and mitigation efforts by coordinating risk assessments, contractor compliance reviews, field audits, incident investigations and implementation of program improvements to reduce cross bore incidents. I think this maintains the progression from career or participant/team member to somewhat a program lead with strategic influence

Qualifications:
Minimum:
- High School or GED
- 3 years of experience in construction related work in either an underground, gas or sewer capacity. 
- Class C driver’s license

Desired:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field, or equivalent experience. 
• Experience at PG&E (as an internal employee, Hiring Hall or contractor) 
• Experience in gas or sewer. 
• Ability to read relevant drawings.\MS Office suite skills. 
• Extensive knowledge of the One Call Law & PG&E Damage Prevention measures. 
• Extensive knowledge of quality standards in the 
relevant program. 
• Customer service and de-escalation skills. 
• Ability to work independently. 
• Extensive knowledge of the One Call Law & PG&E Damage Prevention measures. 
• Extensive Knowledge of Cross Bore procedures to reduce pipeline accidents, which are attributable to boring activities. 
• Ability to work independently and to train career 
level employees.
