Department Overview

 

Gas Operations is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers. As a whole, Gas Operations is responsible for all aspects of PG&E’s gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response.

 

Position Summary

 

Manages and/or administers one or more company programs. Provides oversight, governance, communication, training, reporting as well as having oversight for the overall process and project management for the assigned program(s). Manages the program budget, which may include developing and presenting the budget proposal.

 

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

A reasonable salary range is:​

Bay Area Minimum: $​122,000

Bay Area Maximum: $​194,000

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Manages the scope of a complex program.
  • Supports internal clients with complex project issues as it pertains to program policies and CPUC acceptance/ compliance or project development and applicability.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert in area of field and applies extensive knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices.
  • Acts as the primary interface for big, complex programs including leading coordination and facilitation of program review sessions to review costs, schedule and program effectiveness.
  • Builds new programs, with thorough research of best practices to support the programs.
  • Leads the effort to identify, analyze and improve existing business processes within a department to meet new goals and objectives.
  • Conducts external in-depth research to support program needs.
  • Designs and develops new, complex programs.
  • Ensures compliance with legal, Federal and State regulations.
  • Develops annual productivity targets for work to be completed in the program.
  • Oversees resolution of complex projects and programs.

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum:

 

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in project management
  • Job-related experience, 7 years
  • Experience in managing budgets
  • Experience with SAP

 

Desired:

 

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience in gas maintenance and construction
  • Experience in engineering, 5 years
  • Experience in program management
  • PMP-Project Management Professional certification
