Department Overview

Gas Operations oversees the natural gas transmission and distribution operations. The team maintains and operates 6,700 miles of gas transmission pipeline, 43,000 miles of distribution main, 3.6 million gas services, three PG&E-owned storage facilities with 102 BCF capacity, nine compressor stations with 175K HP, and 5,000 measurement and control facilities. Gas Operations is comprised of approximately 6,000 coworkers.

 

Position Summary

Processes customers' daily gas nominations and provides scheduled data for gas transportation on and off PG&E's pipeline system. Schedulers work with customers, gas control, wholesale marketing & business development, and interconnecting pipelines to ensure nominations are entered and processed by deadlines.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. 

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

 

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $102,000

Bay Area Maximum: $162,000

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Fulfills the responsibilities of the Senior Gas Transportation Scheduler as necessary.
  • Provides training to others in the daily activities of PG&E’s gas business.
  • Responds to and supports team on complex customer inquiries.
  • Fosters team culture of continuous improvement.
  • Leads in development and/or enhancement of tools and processes used by the Gas Scheduling team and develops and communicates ideas on process improvements with team members and management.
  • Serves on cross-functional teams to support system enhancements or process improvements.
  • Participates in the on-call supervisor rotation and Gas Operations Daily Briefing calls.
  • Leads resolution of nomination discrepancies and system problems ensuring compliance with policies and tariffs.
  • Drafts templates for customer notifications and performs presentations on Gas Scheduling to external groups.
  • Maintains and updates internal processes and procedures.
  • Leads UAT testing by performing functional and regression testing prior to software releases. 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
  • Requires a minimum of six years of relevant experience, at least four of which are in gas scheduling

Desired:

  • Associates degree, or equivalent experience
  • Gas Utility Experience
  • Gas Scheduling
