Position Summary

Works to detect, prevent and mitigate safety risks. Provides subject matter expertise on field observations and provides consultation and guidance on corrective action development. Collaborates with and supports the Functional Area (FA) on safety issues. Communicates safety trends and recommends corrective actions. Serves as a resource for the development, implementation, and sustainability of the various company-wide safety initiatives

 

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors​

 

  • The hourly rate for this position ranges from $48.07 to $81.25
  • This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
  • This position is hybrid, working from your remote office, and your assigned location based on business need. The assigned work area is for the Sacramento Area and the Headquarters will be based in Roseville, CA. Candidates must reside or be willing to relocate within the greater Sacramento area.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Conducts both field work procedure & driver observations supporting the Distribution Electric Operations Functional Area (FA)
  • Ensures mutual collaboration with the FA and integrate in all levels of the organization regarding safety (field employees, leadership, & grassroots personnel)
  • Serves as a Safety subject matter expert for FA supervisors and field employees
  • Supports accident investigation teams as a subject matter expert to help determine causal factors
  • Will support our stand to stop catastrophic wildfires
  • Retain a High-Level knowledge of Cal/OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, & Title 8 orders
  • Communicates safety trends and recommends safety corrective actions
  • Coaches FA supervisors on new & existing safety initiatives
  • Support the organizations Emergency Operations for catastrophic events
  • Consults with FA Supervisors on incident investigations, SEMS, & SIAP completion with corrective action plan development
  • Attend Daily safety meetings and periodically supports Safety Summits & Driving Rodeos
  • Remain Proficient at conducting hazard evaluations for complex jobs and recommending appropriate controls

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
  • Relevant experience, 5 years
  • Ability to have or obtain Safety professional certification, for example, CHST, CUSP, STSC, or an equivalent within 1 year of job placement

 

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental health and safety or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Safety professional certification, for example, CHST, STSC, CUSP
  • Experience supporting Electric Distribution installation and or restoration work
