Position Summary
The Business Systems Leader is an integral partner and business liaison between line of business operations and Information Technology, ensuring seamless integration of asset management technologies, online monitoring systems, and business processes. The role requires a strong foundation in APM, asset online monitoring, and electric operations, along with expertise in business process improvement, data analytics, and system implementation to drive operational excellence and reliability. The incumbent will collaborate with engineering, field operations, IT, and compliance teams to enhance system performance, ensure asset health, and develop data-driven strategies that support predictive maintenance and risk mitigation. The incumbent will supervise teams that partner with business process owners and systems end users to define system requirements, provide user support, coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) of new tools and to consult with the business on new technologies and features that contribute to business process efficiencies. The incumbent will supervise/manage and lead a team to represent user needs in the development of functional specifications for Information Technology or other development team. 
 
•    This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned location based on business need.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

 

A reasonable salary range is:

  • Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area)    $132,000.00
  • Mid Base Salary (Bay Area)    $179,000.00
  • Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area)    $226,000.00

 

  • Minimum Base Salary (California)    $125,000.00
  • Mid Base Salary (California)    $170,000.00
  • Maximum Base Salary (California)    $215,000.00

 
Job Responsibilities
•    Lead the implementation, optimization, and integration of APM and asset online monitoring systems to enhance substation asset health and performance management.
•    Work closely with electric operations teams to understand failure modes, maintenance practices, and reliability challenges, ensuring that technology solutions align with operational needs.
•    Develop and refine predictive maintenance models using real-time monitoring data, historical performance trends, and AI-driven analytics.
•    Leads team to gather, analyze and document business requirements for complex projects.
•    Governs end-to-end complex business processes and coordinates with IT to develop and implement solutions to information needs.
•    Consults with business process owners on the impact(s) of technical changes to collective business processes. Leads user acceptance testing (UAT) or functional testing. Ensures timely completion and quality validation with users.
•    Ensures proactive, timely and professional communications to users regarding system status or enhancements.
•    May perform or lead feasibility analysis, business case development, develop project scope, and provide recommendations on the alternative solutions, project strategy and deliverable prioritization.
•    Develops and maintains metrics for assigned systems/tools or project(s).
•    May have oversight for end user training for assigned system.
•    Participates as a key contributor for steering committees with line of business and IT teams that define, review and approve requirements for enhancements.
•    Provides leadership on the business analysis work that has strategic importance for the corresponding IT organization.
•    Manages team to accomplish results through recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, and rewards and recognition. 
 
Qualifications
Minimum:
•    BA/BS in Business, Engineering, Computer Science/Information Systems, etc. or equivalent work experience.
•    10 years of job-related experience in Business, IT, or Engineering fields and/or related education.
 
Desired:
•    Graduate Degree or equivalent experience
•    7 years in Business Analysis
•    Project management experience.
•    Experience in IT-Information Technology, 5 years
•    Experience in Electric operations
