Summary: The Field Metering organization is focused on ensuring our customers' usage data is accurately captured with timely delivery to PG&E's billing and grid monitoring systems. Our field teams are supported by Quality and Training personnel, as well as a dedicated Dispatch and Scheduling operation. Additional activities include:

•    The safe and efficient execution of all customer maintenance and compliance work related to PG&E's electric meters, metering systems and SmartMeter modules
•    Inspect New Customer Facilities prior to connection and Install Electric Meters and Complex Metering System
•    Maintain Company SmartMeter end point infrastructure - installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, field testing, remediation, and removal
•    Manually reads legacy meters and un-transitioned SmartMeters
•    Building customer trust and knowledge by meeting our commitments and providing knowledgeable, courteous and complete service on every job
•    Delivering Fee-for-Service Metering Activities upon request for PG&E customers
•    Performing In-Field High Bill Investigations and Credit Activities when necessary

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

 

A reasonable salary range is:
•    Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area)            $102,000.00
•    Mid Base Salary (Bay Area)        $127,000.00
•    Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area)           $152,000.00

 

•    Minimum Base Salary (California)         $97,000.00
•    Mid Base Salary (California)     $121,000.00
•    Maximum Base Salary (California)        $144,000.00

 

Responsibilities
•    Assigned to complex and unique metering projects that requires modifying existing inspection methods and processes or the development of new and complex metering tools and supplies. 
•    Presents recommendations to complex issues to management for their review and approval. 
•    May participate on cross- functional project teams for the Field Metering.

 

Qualifications
Minimum:

•    High School Degree or GED
•    3 years of experience managing technical or construction projects. 
•    Prior experience working with electric and gas meters. 
•    Experience with troubleshooting, and electric metering programming.

 

Desired:
•    Ability to communicate project needs and broker solutions working with customers, PG&E internal resources and 3rd party organizations 
•    Ability to effectively manage project timelines and resources 
•    Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access • Knowledge in CC&B 
•    Knowledge in Business Objects 
•    Knowledge of ENOS (E-net Online System) 
•    Ability to develop and present findings and recommendations to management 
•    Ability to lead small project teams 
•    Ability to run FMS Scheduled Report daily from Access data base 
•    SME with NEMS and other generation types • Knowledge of green book requirements 
•    Ability to examine business issues and identifies solutions, Including process improvement opportunities
