Position Summary:
Distribution Operations Analysts are responsible for planning and forecasting, reporting and analysis, plan execution and support for effective business decision-making and business operational performance for one or more geographic areas. This role provides a critical link between the construction business and broader business planning needs of the organization.
Planning and forecasting: Works with program manager and superintendent to establish targets and monitor construction hours / unit. Identifies deviation from forecasted costs, work units and construction hours / units. Develops and / or adjusts detailed plans during planning cycle; analyzes spending and productivity and submits business cases as necessary.
Reporting and analysis: Monitors budget and productivity and analyzes variances. Conducts research to ensure accuracy in the records, and provides data as needed for corrections and / or consolidation. Tracks and reports resource utilization and overtime usage, tracks and communicates monthly metric results, investigates results and recommends / initiates corrective actions. Plan execution: Analyze unit cost / productivity and informs superintendent and program managers of status and any required actions. Develops business case for changes as needed. Monitors non-labor PCC costs, meets with supervisors to analyze any variances from plan and communicates status and actions required. Works with clerical staff to ensure time reporting is accurate. Participates in Business Review Team (BRT) process, participating in or facilitating meetings and monitoring all construction metrics.
Support: During emergency response situations, may act as finance lead, oversee crew management and logistics in Outage Management Tool, Region Emergency Center (REC) & Operations Emergency Center (OEC), issues purchase orders or administers short form contract, and/or acts as job owner for non-estimated emergency response orders. Participates in or leads local or system-wide initiatives. Provides ad hoc reporting and analysis for special issues, acts as subject matter expert for one or more process or procedure area, represents Division on operating workflow issues, and others as needed
This role is hybrid – 3 days onsite and 2 remote.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $82,000.00
Bay Area Maximum: $124,000.00
Responsibilities:
- Performs planning, forecasting, and reporting process
- Meets with supervisors and superintendents to review costs, discuss variances, confirm external charges to orders or PCCs
- Prepares financial reports with analyses of key drivers causing significant variances
- Monitors costs in orders and PCC spend and coordinates the corrections of cost accounting errors
- Actively participates in special local initiatives related to business operations and completes assigned tasks related to the initiatives
- Collaborates with peers to gather information and exchange data
- SME regarding division budget
- Finance Lead and/or Logistics assist in OEC/REC
- Monitor Performance Metrics and takes necessary actions to meet targets
- Ensures correct order closing and time entry with clerical
- Demonstrates full understanding of fundamental technical/business operations concepts
- Completes assignments of moderate scope and complexity
- Selects methods, approaches, and tactics to resolve problems and obtain solutions
- Understands how to utilize available resources
- May participate on project teams
- Receives minimal instruction on daily projects and general guidance on new assignments
- May participate in Business Review Team (BRT) process

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 or more years of utility or related business experience
- Primarily office environment with extensive use of personal computer, telephone conversations, conference calls and meetings, which may require some travel (5%)
- Work is fast-paced requiring need to frequently assess priorities
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years’ experience as a Distribution Operations Analyst, Associate or in a business planning role in another department
- Ability to communicate in writing and verbally
- Analytical ability
- Competency in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with SAP or other business software desired
- Adaptable to changing environments with ability to learn new concepts quickly
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Able to effectively manage multiple assignments with demanding time constraints
- Able to perform qualitative and quantitative analysis
