Department Overview
PG&E’s Transportation Services team is responsible for operating and managing one of the largest commercial fleets in the U.S. PG&E has pioneered efficient and sustainable green transportation technologies as part of our commitment to provide safe, reliable and affordable gas and electric service. PG&E’s industry leading green fleet includes a range of electric vehicle technologies—from hybrid electric bucket trucks to extended range pickups. Transportation Services is nationally recognized as a leader in green fleet technology and continues to innovate, invest and work closely with our industry, regulators, automakers and other partners to develop policies and best practices.
The Transportation Services department is responsible for managing all aspects of PG&E’s vehicles & equipment fleet, from design to disposition. The team is comprised multiple operating departments including Engineering, Field Operations, Business Support, Strategy and Analytics. Operating departments within Transportation Services are responsible for company-wide management of over 14,000 vehicles & equipment, regulatory and compliance issues, capital planning, clean air and alternate fuel initiatives, project support, company policy review, safety and technical analyses.
Position Summary
Serves as a Regional Fleet Coordinator to support Transportation Services and local Functional Areas. Manages aspects of fleet program implementation and operations. Ensures program is operating effectively. Responsibilities typically include some or most of the following in support of fleet program management to ensure attainment of program metrics/objectives.
• Provide training to Functional Area leaders and coworkers on fleet related topics including applications, reporting, regulations, and processes.
• Developing, managing, and/or implementing fleet policies and procedures related to utilization, modifications, and overall health of company fleet. • Managing relationship with and providing direction to Transportation Services, Functional Areas, and third-party vendors.
• Executing and monitoring waste elimination activities, budgets, and forecasts related to fleet expenses and cost savings.
• Developing, measuring and reporting on success of the program.
• Identifying and maintaining strong working relationships with all strategic programs and partners.
• Identifying stakeholders and communicate within and outside of PG&E.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
California Minimum: 108,000
California Maximum: 173,000
Bay Area Minimum: $114,000
Bay Area Maximum: $182,000
Job Responsibilities
• Primary local point of contact and liaison between Transportation Services and Functional Areas.
• Facilitate and execute local, cross-functional waste elimination projects, lean programs, and other process improvement initiatives.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to develop solutions to complex problems. • Applies broad expertise and advanced knowledge to wide-ranging issues.
• May act as a team lead and provide direction to less experienced employees.
• Works with Directors and Managers across functions to influence decisions and drive consensus.
• Communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences using a variety of media.
• Integrates industry knowledge related to data into everyday business practices and decision making.
• Provides others with guidance around complex industry regulatory and compliance environment and considerations.
• Creates new and complex data models to facilitate business decisions.
• Provides monitoring and direction on overall fleet programs and policies.
Qualifications
Minimum:
• Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
• 6 years of related experience • Must be able to be onsite at local service center full time.
• Ability to frequently travel within the PG&E service territory.
• Knowledge of vehicle and equipment types typically used in utilities or construction.
• Proficient in Microsoft programs including Excel, Power BI, and SQL.
Desired:
• Masters Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent fleet experience.
• PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification. • In depth knowledge of fleet management processes, regulatory requirements, critical success factors, goals and initiatives.
• Highly skilled at leading cross-functional project teams. Experience leading cross cutting programs and/or process improvement initiatives.
• Advanced presentation skills to effectively convey complex issues to internal and external parties of various levels.
• Expertise in communication, interpersonal/collaboration influence and negotiation and change management.
• Ability to work in autonomously to problem solve and achieve results for internal and external stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of various enterprise system modules and applications for managing information.
