Position Summary:

Provides subject matter expertise in the development of applicable training materials to ensure accuracy and effectiveness in supporting the goals and standards of Distribution System Operations.  Assumes a role in designing, developing, and implementing scenario-based training and simulation for the Distribution System Operators and Apprentice System Operators in the operation of the integrated PG&E distribution system to ensure the distribution grid is operated in a safe and reliable manner while minimizing costs to customers and the company. 

 

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

 

 

Bay Area Minimum: $126,000.

Bay Area Maximum: $200,000.

&/OR

California Minimum: $120,000.

California Maximum: $190,000.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides subject matter expertise in the development of applicable training materials to ensure accuracy and effectiveness in supporting the goals and standards of Distribution System Operations.
  • Assumes a lead role in designing, developing, and implementing scenario-based training and simulation for the Distribution System Operators and Apprentice Distribution System Operators.
  • Partners with leadership to ensure the maintenance and accuracy of existing training programs.
  • Leads job task analysis for curriculum redesign initiatives.
  • Manage special projects as assigned.
  • Maintains knowledge of regulatory compliance as it relates to training standards. Stays abreast of new tools being introduced in the line of business.
  • Supports tactical planning and scheduling to facilitate delivery of training.
  • May support initiatives, and/or provide detailed sets of instructions to execute Electric System Operations (ESO) work processes; conducts train the trainers and field classes.
  • May work with outside vendors for the development of Windows Based Training to meet regulatory training requirements.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • CTT Certification
  • Journeyman System Operator Certification
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience including 2 years previous experience in one of the following:
  • System Dispatcher or Operator on an electric system.
  • Technical Training development & delivery
  • IT support including simulation design
  • Power System Engineering

 

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science
  • Master’s Degree (Education)
  • 7 years of related experience including 2 years previous experience in one of the following:
  • System Dispatcher or Operator on an electric system.
  • Technical Training development & delivery
  • IT support including simulation design
  • Power System Engineering
