Position Summary:
Leadership for Distribution System Operations Support manages the teams that provide the compliance expertise, development and training delivery, and emergency simulation drills for Distribution Operations as well as oversight and compliance for all procedures and documents within the DSO Organization. The incumbents work interdepartmentally within DSO to manage risk and ensure regulatory compliance via the initiatives, projects, reports, drills, simulations, and training programs the group produces.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

 

A reasonable salary range is:

  • Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area)    $132,000.00
  • Mid Base Salary (Bay Area)    $179,000.00
  • Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area)    $226,000.00

 

  • Minimum Base Salary (California)    $125,000.00
  • Mid Base Salary (California)    $170,000.00
  • Maximum Base Salary (California)    $215,000.00

 
Responsibilities:
•    Oversight of Initial Education (IE)and Continuing Education (CE) Programs that train, equip and meet compliance for all personnel within overall organization.
•    Ensures the team’s trainers meet certification requirements and that the curriculum they develop meets regulatory requirements.
•    Gathers feedback on an ongoing basis to ensure that the functional elements of the training meet the department’s needs.
•    Direct oversight of Internal and external Grid Restoration training and coordinated drills
•    Serves as planner and drill proctor for multiple company emergency drills: Power Safety Public Shutoff (PSPS) and NERC Grid Ex drills/exercises.
•    Support and train on Wildfire Mitigation, Electric Emergency (EEP)/Load Shed activities,  Work Procedure Error evaluation, and other critical risk topics
•    Manages critical documents such as the department’s Operating standards, procedures, and supporting training
•    Manages team to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance, and rewards and recognition.
•    Participates in the rotational schedule for the department’s Electric Distribution Emergency Center as DTEC lead in support of overall company emergency response plan.
 
Qualifications
Minimum:

•    High School Degree or GED
•    NERC Instructor Certification 
•    NERC System Operator Certification
•    10 years of operator, system dispatch, or field maintenance experience or an equivalent amount of experience in relevant training delivery roles - including time in a leadership role
 
Desired:
•    Experience with bargaining unit guidelines.
•    PG&E experience
•    4 years of leadership experience
•    Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
