Department Overview

The Operations Support Program and Project Delivery System (PDS) organization is part of the Operations Data, Analytics & Tools Department at Pacific Gas and Electric Company. The department collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to provide a consistent and scalable program and project delivery lifecycle framework. The organization establishes and promotes best practices with documented cross-functional tools and resources, in alignment with enterprise, functional areas and regulatory standards and requirements. In addition, the PDS Team facilitates ongoing problem-solving, analysis, standardization, training and development, and continuous improvement.  

 

Position Summary

This position supports in the development, deployment, sustainment, and continuous improvement of the Program and Project Delivery System (PDS) for Gas and Electric Operations. Acts as a liaison between the workstream key stakeholders and  leadership throughout the organization. In this capacity, it provides planning, strategic analysis, and operational support by facilitating, directing, and coordinating activities and special projects related to program and project delivery best practices, tools, and methods.  Supports  problem-solving, integrates systems, and addresses issues before they are escalated. Builds effective partnerships and promotes collaborative relationships throughout the organization. This position measures and analyzes performance and supports process improvement and lean management. This position contributes toward safety excellence goals by improving safety, reliability and affordability. 

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the Bay or Sacramento Area of the PG&E Service Territory.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

 

Bay Minimum: $105,000
Bay Maximum: $169,000

 

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Measure, analyze and evaluate project/program performance based on established business metrics (project/program and portfolio level).
  • Prioritize issues and facilitates/takes corrective actions, as appropriate.
  • Work with management to support strategic planning support.
  • Support the Functional Area to align with standards, procedures and best practices.
  • Analyze work processes and making recommendations for process improvement where needed.
  • Gather, compile and provide data, reports, and information for executive presentations and regulatory requests.
  • Support close-out efforts and construction packages, as needed.
  • Maintains PDS site and updates documentation.
  • Supports the planning and delivery of training and development to program and project stakeholders.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

 

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in utility industry, or related, 5 years
  • Ability to travel up to 20% visiting other offices

 

Desired:

 

  • Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience in capital program and/or project management
  • Experience in utility industry, or related, 8 years
  • PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification
  • Has demonstrated the capability to manage small to medium projects and programs of moderate complexity. 
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of land acquisition, environmental permitting and contracting procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences from senior management to construction field forces on financial, work performance and related issues.
  • Proven ability to solve problems and influence others without a direct chain of command.
  • Fluent in the use of industry standard project management tools and/or current company tools (e.g. Unifier, ProjectWise, SAP, P6, SharePoint).
  • Understanding of logic-based scheduling 
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to determine root causes of work performance problems.
  • Field experience with maintenance, construction and engineering
