Department Overview

Service Planning and Design (SP&D) organization within Engineering, Planning and Strategy is responsible for delivery of electric and gas services to new and existing PG&E customers. SP&D operations include customer communications, customer project management, gas and electric service design and pricing, coordination with dependency (Land, Environmental, Permitting, Joint Pole) and construction partner organizations.

  

Position Summary

The Work Methods & Procedures Specialist develops designs, and maintains guidance documents (i.e., standards, procedures, job aids, bulletins, communications) that support the functions performed by the SP&D and Central Design organizations. Incumbents may also be assigned to teams responsible for technical documentation, training development and delivery.

 

Disclosure

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. 

 

The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

 

Pay Range: 

 

  • Minimum:  $122,00
  • Midpoint:  $158,000
  • Maximum:  $194,000

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Coaches and develops other Technical Specialists. Leads team for high level initiatives reporting to steering teams. Provides technical expertise, historical perspective, industry standard, and regulation code requirements to improve safety, productivity, and material performance.
  • Performs advanced process mapping techniques with less tenured employees. Leads meetings with assigned LOB stakeholders. Handles high level written work methods development with attention to deep dive analysis of work methods best practices.
  • May lead, support or review investigations of human factor related events that occur in the electric system. May develop or lead QC and QA programs to ensure appropriate  Writes work procedures, technical documents, bulletins, manuals, and tailboards, including edits to existing and creation of new documents. Creates multiple project assignments and technical documents per departmental requirements.

 

Qualifications

Minimum

  • High School Diploma or GED  
  • Total of Ten (10) year’s  electric industry experience
  • Five (5) years’ Work Methods and Procedures Specialist experience, or equivalent relevant experience.

Desired:

  • AA Degree
  • Guidance Document Author Training (CORP-0521)
  • 2+ years of Microsoft office Suite experience
  • Leadership abilities, and team development skills Superior problem-solving skills Ability to build relationships with Functional Areas within the organization and Stakeholders.
  • Expert level communication skills Knowledge of PG&E’s Electric Utility requirements, and documents.
