Department Overview

The Wildfire Risk Organization is responsible for assisting the company to act decisively and transparently to prevent fires of consequence from being caused by our equipment.  The organization develops objectives to 1) prevent fires of consequence originating from our equipment; 2) meet all commitments outlined in Wildfire Mitigation Plan; 3) continue to foster trusted relationships with key stakeholders; and 4) develop consistent processes and work standards through the implementation of the Lean Operating System for sustainable operations.

 

Position Summary

The Expert, Wildfire Regulatory Strategy, plays a critical role in supporting key Regulatory filings including RAMP, General Rate Case (GRC) and Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP). The Expert will be responsible for helping the wildfire Risk organization align and coordinate across Investment Planning, Regulatory, Business Finance and other teams to ensure the Wildfire-related work and costs are properly captured in various regulatory proceedings. Working as part of a highly motivated and impactful team, the successful candidate will help the Wildfire Risk organization attain its goals by leveraging exceptional communication, analytical and strategic skills, while applying the highest work ethic, and has energy and passion for risk-informed, data-driven decision making, collaboration and continuous improvement. 

 

This position will provide a great experience to build a deep understanding of the Utility Wildfire Risk and regulatory landscape, build a network across the Company, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver on Enterprise-level problem solving and results. 

  • This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

 

Bay Minimum: $122,000
Bay Maximum: $194,000

CA Minimum: $116,000
CA Maximum: $184,000

 

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 
 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Work closely with the Wildfire Risk organization’s leadership, Regulatory team, Investment Planning and Business Finance teams on development of various regulatory filings with significant financial impact and high visibility
  • Ensure Wildfire strategy is properly and consistently reflected in various regulatory proceedings  
  • Review and assist subject matter experts with development of testimony, work papers and discovery responses related to Wildfire Risk work, settlement documents and communications materials; anticipate and understand the impact and proactively address issues
  • Build working relationships across the CA Utilities to collaborate on common regulatory approaches and strategies 
  • Develop solid understanding of Wildfire Risk Modelling, Situational Awareness, Operational Mitigations and long-term mitigations such as Undergrounding and System Hardening to influence development of Regulatory content 
  • Develop and present summary presentations for senior management
  • Track and report relevant metrics, KPIs and reports  

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

 

  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Job-related experience, 6 years

 

Desired:

 

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent experience 
  • Advanced communication and presentation skills to deliver complex data and findings to Sr. Management
  • Experience with regulatory processes
  • Demonstrated ability to build productive working relationships across organizations 
  • Analytical and creative problem solving, strategic decision-making ability 
  • Broad knowledge of project management, process improvement best practices, concepts, methods, and techniques 
  • Familiar with the Utility industry 
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
