Position Summary

Creates and effectively communicates solutions and technical vision to support product visions. Nurtures a “fail fast” risk-supportive environment surfacing improvements and impediments by balancing tradeoffs among technical options to balance risk (execution, support, vendor, TCO).

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.


A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $155,000.00

Bay Area Maximum: $265,000.00

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Acts as a subject matter expert in area of field and applies extensive knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices
  • Designs the application architecture for large projects or multi module and application solutions
  • Develops implementation plans and establish teams to introduce new technology
  • Creates system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmer and development teams
  • Assesses potential recommended changes to standards and work procedures or new technology
  • Business requirement functional breakdown
  • Solution functional breakdown
  • Mapping of functional requirements breakdown with solution breakdown
  • Decide on the best available solution to bring maximum business benefit within available time and budget
  • Create and support technical solutions for system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements. This can come in the form of helping with a system implementation, upgrade or enhancement.
  • Build design documents
  • Contribute to the development of Object-Oriented system designs
  • Participate in creation, validation and execution of test cases
  • Being the point person for all functional aspects of the Project
  • Ensure projects solution is documented using the templates and conforms to standards

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 7 years of job-related experience


Desired:

  • Experience in Endur implementation
  • 15 years experience with knowledge of US Power and Gas
  • Experience as Technical Lead, 7 years
  • Experience in an Agile environment
  • Experience with California Utilities, 7 years
  • Practical experience with ETRM systems technology stack like .NET, C# for Endur
  • Experience in the energy, commodities or financial field or working with an ETRM/ or CTRM system.
  • Detailed understanding of the complete trade lifecycle for common energy transactions including physical electricity contracts, financial energy transactions, swaps, options, swaptions, variable-volume offtake agreements (i.e. wind and solar), load agreements, FTRs, and both exchange and bilateral trade types.
  • Experience with developing ETRM product customizations/extensions such as business rules, reports, contract templates, invoice templates, system processes, etc.
  • Knowledge of ISO power market familiarity: LMP, generation dispatch, physical flows/tagging, et cetera.
  • Experience as a functional architect experienced in complete front to back office solutions.
