Department Overview

The Utility Partnerships and Innovation (UPI) team is focused on the creation of transformative, scalable solutions to interlocking utility challenges through the development of third-party partnerships and the deployment of new technology and solutions that directly accelerates PG&E’s long-term strategy.

 

The New Revenue Development (NRD) organization is an entrepreneurial team in UPI whose purpose is to advance innovative uses of PG&E assets, resources, expertise and relationships. Through the products that NRD develops and manages, NRD has the opportunity to drive customer satisfaction, lower rates for PG&E’s customers, and generate positive net revenue for PG&E shareholders.

 

Position Summary

The Program Delivery Supervisor's primary function is to lead teams of employees involved in building and maintaining third-party equipment on PG&E assets or properties with a focus on project planning and development.  This role ensures NRD’s projects are implemented safely and without interference with PG&E’s ability to deliver reliable electric service while maintaining compliance with the California Public Utility Commission's General Orders, all safety regulations, and other regulatory requirements.  The Program Delivery Supervisor implements best safety practices, all PG&E Construction processes and procedures, and positively influences employee ownership by leveraging PG&E’s virtues. 

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory. Work location will be determined by hiring leader and successful candidate.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.  

 

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area: $129,000 to $184,800

California: $123,000 to $176,000

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides effective leadership and employee development through goal setting and the performance evaluation process, development planning process, and provides frequent open and honest feedback.  Coaches and mentors individuals to improve their knowledge and skills, with a focus on PG&E’s virtues.
  • Manages daily work activities; reviews and approves priorities that prevent or delay NRD related construction at Daily Operating Reviews using Visual Management.  Escalation to Manager or above, as needed.
  • Emergency response duties, as assigned.
  • Travels at least 30-40% of time with occasional overnight stays
  • Must be able to travel and work a flexible schedule, including being on call as well as responding to emergencies that may occur throughout our service territory
  • Supervises staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management and rewards and recognition.
  • Oversight, development and improvement of technology solutions and systems to support the work.
  • Leads the effort to identify, analyze and develop new or improved wireless and fiber processes, products, or services to generate recurring revenue opportunities.  Reviews and addresses existing wireless and fiber work practices and identifies operational efficiencies and deficiencies by leveraging Lean Problem Solving.
  • Monitors and assesses NRD portfolio income and expense budget forecasting, pricing and fees, project workload, and overall wireless, fiber and pole top product portfolios. Recommendations to Manager on workload balancing and pricing adjustments, as needed.
  • Ensures full compliance with CPUC, OSHA, CAISO, NERC, and other regulatory agencies.  Implements all Company-wide safety programs/procedures that impact Telecom operations.
  • Participates in cross-functional leadership committees on efforts to update or improve standards, work procedures, and guidelines.  Uses knowledge of customer needs and employee feedback to make decisions to continually improve the customer and employee experience.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal business units and NRD customers.  Represents company to outside industry organizations, agencies or stakeholders.
  • Supervises or participates in root cause analysis and Lean Problem Solving.  Oversees implementation of construction standards, including appropriate formal drawings and procedures, and ensures approvals from internal PG&E stakeholders obtained for all projects.
  • Participates in, facilitates and/or leads Program Delivery meetings in a forum that encourages speak up and free sharing of ideas and lessons learned to improve overall NRD portfolio.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing, construction, field maintenance operations, or related electric utility experience
  • CA Class C License, or equivalent
  • Ability to travel using personal vehicle

 

Desired:

  • Project or program management.
  • Experience in field operations and maintenance.
  • BA or BS in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or other related field
  • Experience or extended knowledge of Lean operating system, especially Lean Problem Solving and Standard Work.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through major initiatives with strategic focus toward end results.
  • Demonstrated coaching, mentoring and development of others.
  • Knowledge of electrical and civil construction project practices. Familiarity with grounding procedures and methods.
  • Ability to provide guidance to field and office personnel. Coaching and consultative abilities.
  • Advanced influence, written and spoken communication, interpersonal, collaboration skills to effectively consult with peers and senior leadership.
  • Analytical, creative and intuitive problem-solving skills. Good investigative skills, knowledge of root cause analysis techniques and methodology.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Negotiation experience.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role over construction, maintenance and/or operations personnel
  • Knowledge of GO 95, 128 ,165 requirements.
  • Knowledge of the company's Emergency Management Process
  • Utility industry experience, electric
