Utility Partnerships & Innovation (UPI) is responsible for the creation of transformative, scalable solutions to interlocking utility challenges through the development of third-party partnerships and the deployment of new technology that directly accelerates PG&E’s long-term strategy.  The Electrification & Decarbonization team within UP&I is focused on the development, creation, and implementation of transformative, scalable solutions to drive the vehicle and building electric transition. This includes regulatory, strategy development, stakeholder outreach, and program design, development, management and implementation of various infrastructure, customer incentives, rates, and future programs.

Position Summary

The Supervisor, Building Electrification Programs, is responsible for leading a team of program managers in executing and overseeing the implementation of the building electrification portfolio strategy and delivery plans, including oversight of the budget, energy savings goals (TSB), cost effectiveness, program key performance indicators, oversight of contracts with 3rd party implementers, ensuring compliance with data privacy mandates and regulatory compliance for building electrification and energy efficiency programs. With the objective of developing and implementing programs that support the growing adoption of building electrification across PG&E’s territory, the role leads the cross-functional collaboration to understand and address customer needs, industry direction, business impacts and company vision; improving program operations and outcomes. The building electrification portfolio includes residential and non-residential resource acquisition, equity, and market support programs delivered by third party implementers. The portfolio includes residential equity and zonal electrification pilots, residential load management pilots focused on testing impacts of daily load shifting, as well as programs focused on accelerating electrification across commercial and public sectors.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The work location is Oakland, CA. 

 

PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position.  The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location.  The range to reasonably expect will be around the minimum and the midpoint of the range.  The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

 

Bay Area Minimum: $118,000.00

Bay Area Midpoint: $153,000.00

Bay Area Maximum: $188,000.00

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  •  Lead a team of 4+ direct report program managers, responsible for development and implementation of PG&E’s building electrification strategy and programs
  • Ensure real-time view of customer needs, industry direction, business impacts, risks and opportunities to influence current and future regulatory and industry strategic direction and priorities
  • Develop, monitor, analyze, and manage operating budgets. Determine performance metrics to monitor and report on business performance results. Regularly present updates to senior leadership on status of organization’s initiatives and goals.
  • Monitor program performance and energy savings (total system benefit) achievements. Work with internal channels and partners including marketing to develop and implement plans to achieve program and cost effectiveness targets. 
  • Interpret CPUC compliance mandates working with the Regulatory Reporting team and Law department to determine what compliance looks like and to resolve issues and disputes. 
  • Respond to and resolve external and internal customer escalations and issues.
  • Work with Energy Efficiency Policy Manager on CPUC outreach intended to strengthen relations with the Energy division by identifying key issues, potential risks on the industry horizon, and hot to mitigate and resolve.
  • Establish clear expectations and goals to achieve results and build team development and engagement through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management and coaching, change management, employee engagement, team building and rewards and recognition. 

 

Job Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of work experience

  • Experience leading teams successfully
  • Strong focus on client and customer satisfaction
  • General knowledge of market barriers and opportunities, end use technologies, building electrification, energy efficiency, demand response, load management for residential and non-residential customers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate and influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience and proficiency in project and contract management:  manage multiple priorities, projects, contracts to completion such as energy efficiency projects
  • LSS Green Belt
  • Utility industry experience
  • Experience with Measurement and Verification techniques
  • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM platform
  • Strong focus on safety
