Department Overview

 

PG&E’s award-winning Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy team serve as a central convenor to further the company’s enterprise-wide engagement and advocacy efforts. Members of this team work within a matrixed, cross-functional environment with team members in government relations, regulatory affairs, communications and other external-facing teams across the company. The team takes a One PG&E approach to stakeholder engagement with a formal support structure and tools to improve coordination and to effectively engage third-party stakeholders in high-visibility issues playing out across the political and regulatory spectrum. The team also support local policy, state legislative and/or agency activities as needed.

 

This team sits within the State Government Relations (SGR) team which is responsible for working with the California Legislature, Governor’s Administration, and State Agencies and departments to educate and promote policies and issues of importance to PG&E, its workers, its customers, and other core Company operations and functions. SGR is also responsible for the development of the Company’s plans and engagement approaches related to key state stakeholders and influencers, as well as on other high priority initiatives requiring third-party organizing and engagement.

 

 

Job Summary

 

The Site Visit Coordinator, Expert, will develop, lead, facilitate and support a new external stakeholder site visit program working closely with various Corporate Affairs teams. This position will also facilitate the appropriate political and regulatory compliance efforts in support of the site visit program. The position will contribute to various aspects of our corporate enterprise-wide stakeholder engagement program, including political and retiree engagement, statewide coalition-building and other advocacy activities. This position will play an important role in further enhancing and developing PG&E’s political engagement program on a variety of issues, while also supporting local policy, state legislative and/or agency activities. This position will also engage heavily with a variety of internal and external stakeholders in support of broader Corporate Affairs objectives. 

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location 2/3 days a week based on business need.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.   

 

Pay Range display:

Bay Area – $129,000 to $184,800 annually

 

 

Job Description

 

  • Establish and lead new centralized Corporate Affairs site visit program.
  • Coordinate site visits amongst various Corporate Affairs teams at various locations across the service area and provide onsite coordination and support.
  • Responsible for appropriate safety, political and regulatory compliance related to the program.
  • Support internal and external coalition-building and stakeholder engagement activities, as assigned.
  • Responsible for developing and distributing PG&E’s Local Leader newsletter. This will involve developing new content and curating existing content from PG&E’s external news platforms into a monthly publication intended to inform stakeholders and support the company’s external advocacy efforts.
  • Effectively and succinctly communicate verbally and in writing, findings, reports and recommendations to various levels of leadership.
  • Develop, measure and report on success of the stakeholder engagement and advocacy programs, including the site visit program.   
  • Develop and/or implement best practice policies, procedures and processes related to stakeholder engagement.
  • Support state legislative and/or agency activities, as directed

 

Qualifications

Minimum

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Six (6) years of related experience or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

 

Desired

 

  • Political and/or organizing background preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate across matrixed teams
  • Demonstrated ability to be organized, structured and meticulous in planning detailed/highly visible engagements
  • Ability to synthesize and propose impactful actions on complex issues
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the energy and utility industry and its relationship with the political environment
  • Project management experience
  • Ability to manage complex projects and budgets at the same time
  • Utility industry experience
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel)

 

Travel time: 40% or more
