Department Overview

The coworkers of the Service Planning and Design organization (SP&D) support the company’s True North Strategy by delivering customers safe, reliable, and affordable electric and gas services in compliance with all applicable regulatory and internal requirements. SP&D supports both gas and electric operations through its customer project management, customer communications, design and estimating functions, dependency, construction, clerical and joint utility functions.

 

Position Summary

The Senior Work Methods & Procedures Specialist creates and maintains guidance documents, including standards, procedures, job aids, bulletins, and communications, that support the functions performed by the SP&D and Central Design & Estimating organizations. Incumbents may lead the development and delivery of training materials either on an ad-hoc basis or in partnership with PG&E’s Academy.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the Bay Area Service Territory.

Position will require up to approximately 15% of travel time in work schedule.

 

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

A reasonable salary range is:​

 

Bay Area Minimum: $​102,000.

Bay Area Maximum: $152,000.

&/OR​

California Minimum: $​97,000.

California Maximum: $​144,000.

 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Writes new work standards, procedures, technical documents, job aids, bulletins, manuals, and tailboards
  • Maintains and edits guidance documents, including standards, procedures, technical documents, job aids, bulletins, manuals, and other communications
  • Leads meetings with functional area stakeholders to create and update guidance documents.
  • Performs advanced process mapping techniques
  • Handles high level written work methods development with attention to deep dive analysis of work methods best practices.
  • Create and deliver training on work standards, procedures, and other guidance documents

 

Requirements:

Minimum

High School Diploma or GED

Total 8 years of electric industry experience

5 years at the journeyman level or at Career level for 2 years

 

Desired:

AA Degree

Guidance Document Author Training (CORP-0521)

2+ years of Microsoft office Suite experience

Facilitation and team development skills

Superior problem-solving and organizational skills

Ability to build relationships with Functional Areas within the organization

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge of PG&E’s Electric Utility requirements

Knowledge of New Business end-to-end process
