Department Overview

The Compliance Strategy and Governance department in Ethics, Risk, and Compliance sets and manages the compliance management standards and framework for the company. This includes providing governance, oversight, and tools to enable PG&E departments and coworkers to conduct business in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and to effectively manage compliance risk. Functional responsibilities of the team related to enterprise-wide ethics and compliance management include strategic development, standards development, support for all Functional Areas, oversight and validation, enterprise-level IT tool ownership, and enterprise governance and reporting. The department also partners with the Ethics and Risk teams to promote a culture of compliance and ethics where employees are enabled and inspired to act with integrity, speak up to raise concerns and comply with all legal and regulatory requirements,and mitigate risk.

 

Position Summary

The successful candidate will manage and help to provide assurance over enterprise-wide compliance programs, procedures and systems which support all Functional Areas. This position supports execution of the monthly Commitments Information Center. The individual will act in a consultative capacity as a business partner and compliance and controls expert to cross-functional business partners. This position is responsible for understanding the business environment and associated compliance requirements related to assigned enterprise compliance management programs, identifying and assessing enterprise compliance performance and corrective actions, helping business partners develop controls and metrics, evaluating compliance performance response plans for effectiveness, providing recommendations to strengthen the company’s ability to meet its commitments, and helping to facilitate and publish policies and standards, in line with compliance objectives and/or established risk protocols. The individual will leverage lean principles to support an infrastructure that enables business units, departments and employees to conduct business in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies. 

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need.

The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

Job Responsibilities

•Engages with cross-functional business partners to manage tracking and reporting of the company’s Notices of Violation and Self-Reports, including at the monthly Commitments Information Center.
•Demonstrates advanced understanding of regulatory policy and compliance concepts 
•Provides regulatory compliance expertise to assigned Functional Area (FA) partners 
•Applies advanced knowledge to help evaluate requirements, assess risk, monitor compliance and assist department to develop effective remediation plans based on root causes 
•Provides advice to assigned department(s) to facilitate the design and implementation of effective controls to mitigate risk and manage compliance requirements; evaluates and documents alternatives and make recommendations to compliance owners 
•Ensures the assigned business unit monitors for, tracks, and manages instances of non-compliance affecting the FA and works with diverse organizations to confirm ownership, using FA risk and compliance processes and systems 
•Provides leadership and insight in evaluating non-compliance response plans and control deficiencies in accordance with the company’s framework 
•Participates in or may lead root cause analysis and Problem Solving activities 
•Supports development and analysis of metrics related to compliance and risk
 

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any of Management, Risk and Insurance, Communications, Business, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; or equivalent experience
• Requires minimum of 5 years of related experience (i.e. compliance, auditing, program/process management/implementation, strategy, regulatory, operations)
