Department Overview

The Distributed Generation Programs team oversees PG&E’s Distributed Generation programs including several DG-related rates and programs, and incentive programs to increase the availability of DG in disadvantaged communities. The team interacts regularly with regulators, vendors, industry experts, Community Choice Aggregators (CCAs) and the Energy Division of the CPUC. We also collaborate extensively with other departments in PG&E to support and enhance the DG customer experience and proactively drive new policies.

 

The DG Programs team is part of the Customer Generation and Storage team which contributes to PG&E’s Load Management strategy.

 

Position Summary

As a Senior-level Program Manager, the successful candidate will lead PG&E’s Green Saver (Disadvantaged Communities Green Tariff or DAC-GT) program and contribute to the operations of PG&E’s Meter Socket Adapter program.

 

The Green Saver program procures small grid-scale solar projects on behalf of qualified low-income customers and provides them with 100% renewable energy and a 20% bill discount. The candidate will be responsible for regulatory compliance, program operations and financials, reporting, and coordination and communication with internal, external and other IOU and CCA partners.

 

The Meter Socket Adapter program manages the testing and evaluation process of new meter socket adapter devices and facilitates the installation of approved devices. The candidate will join a small team managing this work and contribute to the day-to-day program operations.

 

This person will report to the DG Programs team manager. This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location is PG&E’s General Office in Oakland, CA.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

 

A reasonable salary range is:​

Bay Area Minimum: $102,000

Bay Area Maximum: $162,000

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Manage all Green Saver regulatory compliance and strategy activities including but not limited to authoring documents such as advice letters, data requests, and other responses in ongoing CPUC proceedings, leading the development of periodic and accurate program reports, and collaborating with internal and external partners to streamline the implementation of CPUC orders.
  • Own all Green Saver program operations and financials, ensure accurate program tracking and reporting, provide direction on data analysis, IT platform and website enhancements, and oversee procurement and enrollment decisions regularly.
  • Coordinate with key partners including others on the DG Programs team, Energy Procurement, Contract Management, IT, Legal, and various CCAs who operate DAC-GT Programs.
  • Collaborate with CCAs who operate Green Saver programs in the PG&E service area by completing regular billing operations support activities and lead various aspects of financial reporting on behalf of both PG&E’s and the CCA’s Green Saver programs.
  • Utilize appropriate databases to pull and update program reports regularly, provide direction on detailed data analysis, as needed; also, lead the inclusion of PG&E’s Green Saver program in an upcoming statewide program reporting platform.
  • Contribute to the management and daily operations of the Meter Socket Adapter program including responding to customer escalations, conducting internal coordination and reporting, making enhancements to program documentation, and other activities to support program growth while ensuring regulatory compliance and program data accuracy.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 6 years of related experience
