Summary: As the Senior Manager of Visual Management & Insight Services, you lead the transformation of compliance data into compelling, actionable insights that drive strategic decisions and promote transparency across the organization. You oversee the design and implementation of reporting systems, visualization tools, and trend analyses that support operational excellence, continuous improvement, and regulatory confidence. Leveraging PG&E’s visual management approach and principles such as visibility, accessibility, and standardization, you build scalable dashboards and real-time insight tools that empower teams to take informed action and sustain a culture of safety, accountability, and performance.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
- Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area) $147,000.00
- Mid Base Salary (Bay Area) $199,000.00
- Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area) $251,000.00
- Minimum Base Salary (California) $140,000.00
- Mid Base Salary (California) $189,000.00
- Maximum Base Salary (California) $238,000.00
Responsibilities
- Lead Visual Management Programs and Strategy: Develop and manage dashboards, scorecard boards (such as SQDC), and visual reporting tools that provide leadership with visibility into key performance areas such as safety, delivery, and quality.
- Lead Visualization Insights and Execution: Oversee reporting platforms and translate complex compliance data into intuitive, real-time visual products that support leadership decision making and operational action.
- Drive Development of 5S Boards: Champion visual management boards to organize workspaces, standardize procedures, and enhance productivity across compliance and operational teams.
- Drive Trend Analysis and Risk Detection: Implement methodologies to identify patterns, surface emerging risks, and generate actionable insights that promote continuous improvement.
- Grow and Empower Teams: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of visualization and reporting professionals focused on insight delivery and stakeholder engagement.
- Champion Cross-Functional Data Integration: Partner with Data Quality and Analytics, Compliance Strategy, and operational teams to ensure cohesive, accurate, and timely information flow.
- Communicate with Clarity and Authority: Engage confidently with executives and stakeholders, delivering data-driven insights through clear, compelling, and action-oriented visual narratives.
- Advance Reporting Standards and Audit Readiness: Define and maintain scalable reporting standards that ensure consistency, auditability, and responsiveness to evolving compliance requirements.
- Coordinate Tools and Platform Strategy: Lead collaboration with internal developers and external vendors to enhance visualization platforms and insight delivery capabilities.
- Enhance User Experience and Reporting Impact: Monitor usage, integrate stakeholder feedback, and refine visual tools to drive stronger situational awareness and improve strategic outcomes.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Econometrics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Sciences, Statistics or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
- 8 years of data operations, data management, data strategy, data reporting, data analytics or job-related experience
- 3 years leadership experience
Desired:
- 10 years in data reporting, business intelligence, or compliance analytics
- 5 years leading teams or projects in visual management, dashboards, or executive reporting
- Experience in the data organization of a utility or energy company
- Prior involvement in supporting regulatory filings or data-driven compliance programs
- Familiarity with enterprise data visualization environments (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud)
- Familiarity with visual management systems and frameworks such as SQDC, CI boards, and 5S boards used to monitor operational performance and drive continuous improvement
- Experience applying structured problem-solving methods such as PDCA or DMAIC within a compliance, engineering, or operations environment
