The Wildfire IT Team consists of a staff of highly skilled professionals working together to produce geospatial, mobile, data, sensing, and web solutions that are internally and externally facing. We do this using agile methods and placing our users and their needs at the center of our focus. Our goal is to deliver products that will keep our communities safe.


Position Summary

The Senior Manager, IT PSPS will be responsible for the strategy, development, delivery, and operations for multiple mission and business critical applications. Additionally, this role will lead the Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) Technology team which is comprised of individuals responsible for solutions, portfolio strategy & planning, epic and feature definitions, and product delivery. This role will indirectly lead and interface with other teams internally to ensure mission critical operations is executed and to provide oversight, including influencing investment, architecture of solutions and design, for other PSPS, wildfire and emergency response solutions. The successful candidate will manage vendor performance via service level agreements with an eye on continuous improvement. Finally, the role is accountable to lead the wildfire emergency response Agile Release Train (ART).


This is a hybrid position with Oakland as the designated headquarters. Your physical presence may be required one day a week in office in Oakland or San Ramon as business needs arise.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.​


A reasonable salary range is:​

Bay Area Minimum: $159,000.00

Bay Area Maximum: $271,000.00


Job Responsibilities

  • Builds expertise in PSPS business process and technology usage, with high levels of curiosity and through leadership in continuing to create value for users.
  • Achieve results through others by setting and communicating goals and metrics, monitoring progress; providing ongoing coaching and feedback, and reinforcing behaviors that drive high performance.
  • Acts as a liaison and conduit for information flow between the department team and the rest of the IT and business community, as well as with appropriate external stakeholders; manages the efficient and effective resolution of issues.
  • Analyzes portfolio performance and recommends changes in investment mix to achieve goals; uses reporting tools to monitor portfolio activities, and regularly brief IT and business leaders on portfolio performance.
  • Delivers the portfolio using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) practices, with ownership for the Wildfire Emergency Response Agile Release Train.
  • Manages the assessment of risks and the execution of plans to mitigate the risks.
  • Develops and manages service level agreements with business partners, product development team and Operation support vendors.
  • Oversees vendor operation support practices and ensures standards and best practices are established and followed.
  • Achieves results through others by setting and communicating goals and metrics, monitoring progresses, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, and reinforcing behaviors that drive up performance levels.
  • Establishes individual and department objectives that are aligned with organization goals. Implements PG&E practices for staffing, EEO, diversity, performance management, development, reward and recognition, and retention.
  • Manages the identification, analysis, valuation, and execution of system investments for project delivery and support operations; Supports the execution of technology roadmaps.


Qualifications

Minimum:

  • B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent work experience in computer science, information technology, business administration, engineering, or another relevant field
  • 8 or more years of experience in programming/systems analysis, project management, and/or IT strategy planning or another related field

  • Experience in the following functional areas: Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS), electric control center operations, emergency response, incident command system (ICS)
  • Master’s degree in business administration or job-related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Leadership experience in IT-Information Technology
