Department Overview

PG&E's Company Forecasting Planning and Analysis (CFP&A) team delivers enterprise-level forecasting and analysis that provides business insight, drives informed decision making, and establishes expectations for near and long-term financial performance. 

The Financial Analysis and Reporting (FAR) team produces enterprise-level earnings forecasts, facilitates and develops year-over-year and long-term budgets and forecasts for corporate revenue and expense items, produces internal financial reports, management income statements, and the Enterprise Performance Highlights (EPH) report for the Board, supports monthly and quarterly close activities, and provides variance analyses and quarterly earnings walks.

Position Summary

As a key member of the FAR team, the Senior Analyst will apply expertise in budgeting, forecasting, corporate finance, and reporting along with an in-depth knowledge of the company to provide robust, meaningful forecasts and insights to our clients. You will work closely to help generate and support the enterprise level earnings view. You will play a key role in supporting the quarterly earnings materials, the monthly financial package to the Executive Officer Team, and monthly internal team reporting around financial performance.

The role is hybrid working from your remote office and in-person at the Oakland General Office once a week or based on business needs or company requirements.

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.   

Pay Range display:

Bay Area – $98,000 to $134,200 annually 

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis around earnings, revenue, and key risks and opportunities
  • Help to coordinate specific month-end reporting deliverables
  • Own specific revenue areas: budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis each month related to GRC Revenues, Electric Transmission Revenues, and Other Rate Case Revenues
  • Support production of the L1 Run the Business Materials presented to the Senior Leadership Team
  • Work closely with business partners in Accounting, Business Finance, and SOX
  • Perform special projects and contribute to department initiatives, as requested by the Manager and Senior Manager
  • Develop expertise in the areas of financial reporting, PG&E’s budget structure and reporting hierarchies, and lead the resolution of more complex reporting issues

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent work experience
  • 4 years’ accounting and/or finance experience

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC and FERC requirements
  • Solid communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of financial analysis
  • Knowledge of Utility ratemaking
  • Superior analytical skills, combined with impeccable business judgment, attention to detail, and ability to communicate with a management team
  • Superior writing, report development, and written presentation skills
