Department Overview

 

The Transmission Line Asset Management team ensures the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. In Transmission Line Asset Strategic Implementation, we work closely with project sponsors and project team to ensure implementation of right scope on time and on budget.

 

Position Summary

 

This job is represented by Engineers and Scientists of California (ESC) subject to collective bargaining.

 

The Senior level engineer job requires mastery of the Journey level engineer skills and duties. This position is responsible for providing technical specification of equipment, design criteria, standards and implementation support for the substation electrical transformers and handles complex problems and issues.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity.

 

The annual salary range is:

 

CA Minimum, $148,272

CA Maximum, $190,488

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Assist with or initiate the investigation of new technologies associated with equipment. Keep abreast of changes in technology through attending conferences and expos, working with vendors and suppliers, maintaining relationships with internal and external technical experts.
  • Where applicable, act as a liaison with Maintenance and Construction personnel by providing communication and feedback regarding construction standards, work procedures and equipment iss­­­ues.
  • Provide training support to other less senior engineers.
  • Lead development, implementation, and management of a complete asset life cycle and system reliability strate­gies, plans, and programs including asset installation, maintenance, operations, replacement, and removal.
  • Address and manage emergency issues associated with assigned assets.
  • Support, perform or lead, as assigned, root cause analysis.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert in area of field and applies extensive knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices. Develop and provide specialized training on transmission line assets within areas of expertise.
  • Provide technical expertise and lead in implementation of complex and large-scale projects.
  • Provide support on regulatory, governmental and other third-party issues.

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum:

  • BS Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering as appropriate from an accredited curriculum in the US or the equivalent from outside the US
  • 8 years of cumulative experience in engineering, planning and/or operations

 

Desired:

  • 2 years of Project Implementation or Asset Management experience
  • Proficient in Foundry, Power BI, and Excell
  • Experience in Quality audits or cause analysis
  • Experience in Project Management and Transmission Line
  • Current and active California PE license desired
  • 10% travel to suppliers’ factories
