Position Summary

PG&E is seeking a Senior Director, SAP Development & Delivery to co-lead our Propel program. Propel is a large-scale business and technology modernization initiative focused on migrating to SAP S/4HANA. This role will be pivotal in standardizing business processes, modernizing technology, and driving innovation across multiple business functions including Engineering, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, HR, and IT.

 

The Senior Director, SAP Development & Delivery oversees the solution delivery and technical development for Propel. The candidate will be responsible for driving the SAP S/4HANA transformation from SAP ECC, ensuring smooth implementation across four major releases from 2025-2030.

 

Reporting Relationship

This position reports to the Vice President, Energy Systems and Solutions, IT and is responsible for leading a 300+ person organization with Director, Senior Manager and Chief level leadership team.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead fit to standard SAP system design with business leaders and directing IT SAP leaders with domain expertise in EAM, supply chain, finance and HR.  Own and drive overall end to end vision of the solution across all domains and technologies (SAP and non-SAP).
  • Lead release planning and solution delivery and support program governance.
  • Lead SAP development across internal teams, system integrators, and managed service partners, ensuring on-time, high-quality delivery of all RICEFW (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows).
  • Oversee data conversion from a highly customized SAP ECC environment to a greenfield S/4HANA landscape, including transition planning and execution.
  • Ensure alignment with SAP Clean Core principles and proactively identify and remediate non-SAP application dependencies.
  • Drive cross-functional architecture in collaboration with SAP Solution Architects and EA, ensuring a cohesive target state across Propel and external systems.
  • Develop SAP skills with current team; cross skill and close skill gaps.

Background Qualifications

Minimum

  • Minimum of B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent work experience in computer science, information technology, business administration, engineering, or other relevant field requires
  • Minimum of 12 or more of relevant technical and leadership experience within a company or industry consulting responsible for technology strategy, planning, and client relationship work experience required
  • Experience leading SAP development and/or operations as a Director, Senior Director or VP for multiple SAP projects including 1 project on S4/HANA
  • Industry experience as IT leader managing teams and P&L
  • Experience in influencing senior management and key stakeholders.

 

Desired

  • Experience in leading large / complex SAP S4/HANA program (budget of >$100M)
  • SAP IT leadership experience in large global company responsible for delivery and development.  Operations and/or architecture is a plus
  • Multiple ERP production landscape experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing large teams 300+ to successfully deliver IT services
  • Ability to influence and work with and across all levels up to (CEO and management team) within the business to develop the "best" solution to an issue/business need required.

Compensation

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. 

 

We estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed within the reasonable compensation range of $234,000 to $336,000.  The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.  This leadership role is also eligible for an annual Short Term Incentive Plan (STIP) award, as well as the Long Term Incentive Plan (LTIP) grant.
