Department Overview:
Information Technology is a unified organization comprised of various departments which collaborate effectively to deliver high quality technology solutions. Enterprise Protection, Data and Analytics is part of the IT Organization, and this position resides within Enterprise Protection supporting the Corporate Security Department (CSD) where multiple systems and technologies exist to detect, delay, defend, deter, and deny adversaries in the protection of our people, assets, and facilities. These systems include access control, visitor management, surveillance systems, alarm response, and field technologies which work together to support the protection mission.
Position Summary
This role works in partnership with stakeholders to execute physical security projects, deploying technology standards and design patterns. The IT Project Manager acts as a thought leader, execution leader, collaborator, and information source to support team members and projects with an emphasis on ensuring that physical security products and solution meet Corporate Security and Functional Area needs (i.e., Gas, Electric, PowerGen, others). Technology projects most often include a field component, such as access controls and video, which are deployed across PG&E’s vast service area. The selected candidate should be able to function effectively in a process-oriented environment with multiple stakeholders.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory and will be agreed upon by the successful candidate and hiring leader. Must be able to travel to field at least 1 day per week.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $129,000
Bay Area Maximum: $207,000

Responsibilities:
Responsible for the concurrent management of one or more small to large and moderately complex projects. These projects involve multiple aspects, and have clearly defined start and end dates, a specific scope of work, a budget, required resources, and a specified performance objective to be achieved. Specific responsibilities include:
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge and technical competence in physical security systems
- Exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance with broad scope and high complexity
- Responsible for leading one or more projects typically between $100,000 - $5,000,000 throughout the full project lifecycle
- Gathering, defining and documenting project requirements
- Developing and maintaining project scope, detailed schedule, milestones, and budgetary estimates
- Manage project budgets, financial forecasts, procurement processes, and vendor relationships
- Defining the Scope of Work (SOWs) by applying design and implementation standards, and industry best practices to meet physical security requirements
- Clearly defining and communicating roles, responsibilities and expectations for all members of the project team
- Obtaining and defining staffing requirements and forming project teams and/or determine appropriate Vendors to complete the required activities
- Independently lay out and plan all associated work to meet project goals
- Providing direction and leadership to project management analysts, vendors, and internal team members
- Developing metrics, procedures, objectives and methods to assess project progress while utilizing established standards and quality objectives
- Conducting site walk-downs and project kick-off meetings
- Ensuring all project team members have the tools and training necessary to perform effectively
- Recording, tracking and communicating issues, risks, changes, and status reports using PG&E standard tools
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify risks, and devise contingency plans
- Coordinating any required contract work within defined PG&E policy, standards and procedures, including adherence to safety requirements
- Communicating status of all projects to stakeholders and management
- Developing and maintaining a productive working relationship with project sponsors, vendors and key clients
- Resolving issues as they arise
- Preparing all project documentation for closure, storage, and possible auditing activities, ensuring technical accuracy and in accordance with procedures
Minimum Education:
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Business, Engineering or equivalent experience
Experience:
- Minimum
- 5+ years’ experience managing one or more moderately complex product/software development cycles/projects
- Experience with physical security installation, maintenance, and service agreements
- Desired:
- Experience working in a PMO environment as Project Lead or Project Manager for highly complex projects
- Experience working in the physical security as a field engineer or technician
License/ Certification Minimum
- Minimum
- Project Management Professional (PMP) from PMI
- Desired:
- ASIS Certified Protection Specialist (CPP) or Equivalent
- ASIS Certified Physical Security Professional (PSP)
Minimum SKAs:
- Minimum
- Advanced understanding of project management principles and methodologies
- Strong understanding of distributed control system and applications supporting physical security (field devices, alarm panel operation and wiring, access control, video surveillance, or other field components)
- Advanced skills in project management processes and tools (e.g. Jira, Planisware, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6)
- Ability to successfully navigate delivery and consensus building within a cross-functional environment
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and collaboration skills
- Resource and financial Acumen, team player, makes agreements
- Proficiency in negotiation and risk management

- Skilled in using the following programs – Microsoft Office tools, work intake and monitoring tools
- Software development, SQL, application configuration or related experience in security setting
- Experience with field deployments, including low-voltage design or installation
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as NERC CIP, FERC, TSA, CPUC
