Department Overview

The Information Technology (IT) organization designs, develops, operates, and maintains the technology and telecommunications systems that enable PG&E to meet its commitment to providing safe, reliable, and affordable service to customers.

 

The Computer Information Systems (CIS) Application Operations team specifically is responsible for maintaining the continuous operation of the Customer Care and Billing (CC&B) application and its interfaces. In addition, the team facilitates all associated maintenance activities including deployment of new functionality, maintenance of the environment, and incident resolution. This is a 24/7 operations support team, and all team members participate in on-call duties.

 

Position Summary

PG&E is seeking an individual to provide senior level support for the mission critical CC&B application. The candidate must be able to engage with environment coordinators, managed services operations team and Enterprise Operations Center (ENOC) to provide knowledgeable, consistent, and timely daily support. The candidate will also participate in planning and scheduling monthly maintenance and providing front-line support for periodic incident response.

 

Duties will include:

  • Responding to requests in development, test, and production environments
  • Investigation of production issues in interfacing systems and Automic (UC4) scheduled processing
  • Maintenance and distribution of operational reports regarding daily and monthly metrics
  • Participation in troubleshooting performance and application issues in a collaborative environment with external teams and implementing solutions as directed.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

 

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $114,000

Bay Area Maximum: $182,000

 

California Minimum: $108,000

California Maximum: $173,000

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Review of daily processing required to maintain the application 24-hour clock requirement
  • Support of Bill Print and Payment Processing functions
  • Day-to-day operations activities and planned maintenance of Meter-to-Cash Customer Information Applications
  • Troubleshooting performance issues in a collaborative environment with teams external to technical support
  • Organizing and communicating status to peer level organizations
  • Request processing for environment coordinators in development and test regions
  • Development and analysis of Automic (UC4) batch processing jobs and workflows
  • Technical support for new project testing and delivery
  • Analysis of CC&B application and Structured Query Language (SQL) performance
  • Providing end user support for application developers in development, testing, and production environments.
  • Maintenance of daily and monthly operational reports and metrics

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other related field or equivalent work experience
  • Job-related experience, 4 years
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

Desired:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
  • Experience with 24x7 on-call, front line support for large distributed applications
  • Experience with SQL+, and Oracle SQL developer
  • Experience with Linux/Unix shell scripting
  • Knowledge of scheduling applications such as Automic (UC4)
  • Familiarity with applications to facilitate generation and printing of customer bills and letters
  • Knowledge of Bill Print or Bill Print applications – Ricoh ProcessDirector, PIOM, Spectrum, MailStreamPlus, VeriMove, Mail360, EngageOne Generate, EngageOne Designer, and Kern MailFactory
  • Some knowledge of file transformation, transfer, and notification applications for Payment Processing
