Department Overview

The Underground Program organization is working to reduce wildfire risk every day as we underground 10,000 miles of distribution lines. We are responsible for working across all internal teams and engaging external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, to support successfully meeting our goals and reducing wildfire risk in our hometowns. We work in an exciting and fast-paced environment. 

 

Position Summary

The Program Manager manages aspects of program implementation and ensures efficient and compliant operations for the Undergrounding Regulatory Strategy team. The team is responsible for:

  1. Orchestrating the regulatory filing of a strategic, well-supported, compliant and compelling 10 Year Electric Undergrounding Plan (EUP) that enables a more safe, prosperous, and carbon neutral California,
  2. Strategically managing the interplay of multiple System-Hardening proceedings, including the EUP, Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP), General Rate Case (GRC), Risk Assessment and Mitigation Phase (RAMP), Wildfire Mitigation and Catastrophic Events (WMCE), and
  3. Ensuring regulatory compliance is operationalized to enable business success.

 

In this role you will:

  • Use strong program and project management skills to oversee the Undergrounding Regulatory team’s and 10 Year Electric Undergrounding Plan (EUP) tactical implementation plans (TIP) . Develop, implement and/or coordinate relevant standards and procedures.
  • Confirm regulatory compliance requirements are operationalized with sufficient business controls, supporting evidence, assumptions and methods. Support the lean delivery and associated visual management for System Hardening commitments tracking by developing, measuring, and reporting on success of the program.
  • As needed, provide summary and analysis of financial, strategic or policy impact of key regulatory proposals, pleadings, and decisions. Prepare and, if appropriate, delivers summaries, strategic briefing materials and/or recommendations to leadership, partner organizations, and regulators (via memos and/or PowerPoints).
  • Maintain knowledge of key program, operational, cost, and regulatory issues. Keep well-informed of trends, issues and developments in the industry. Identify and maintain strong working relationships with all strategic programs and partners.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
 

A reasonable salary range is:​

Annual Minimum:   $122,000.00

Midpoint of Salary:  $158,000.00

Annual Maximum:   $194,000.00             

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Use strong program and project management skills to oversee the Undergrounding Regulatory team’s and 10 Year Electric Undergrounding Plan (EUP) tactical implementation plans (TIP) to ensure key deliverables and associated dependencies are effectively managed for on-time completion.
  • Develop and/or implement and coordinate relevant policies and procedures, including the targets and objectives governance standard and procedures for the EUP, web remediation requirements, etc.
  • Confirm regulatory compliance requirements are operationalized with sufficient business controls, supporting evidence, assumptions and methods
  • Support the lean delivery and associated visual management for System Hardening commitments tracking by developing, measuring, and reporting on success of the program.
  • As needed, provide summary and analysis of financial, strategic or policy impact of key regulatory proposals, pleadings, and decisions.
  • Prepare and, if appropriate, delivers summaries, strategic briefing materials and/or recommendations to leadership, partner organizations, and regulators (via memos and/or PowerPoints).

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in business.
  • Eight (8) years of related experience or equivalent

Desired:

  • Masters Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification
