UP&I, PG&E’s Building Electrification & Efficiency Programs (BEEP), is responsible for implementing and administering customer demand-side management programs, including energy efficiency, distributed generation, demand response, and rate option programs that help PG&E customers in Northern and Central California manage the energy use of their homes and businesses. PG&E has been a national leader in energy efficiency since 1976 and continues to recruit and develop individuals to carry the BEEP Department’s legacy of effective energy efficiency programs into the future.

 

This position is within PG&E’s Non-Residential Energy Efficiency Programs team in the Energy Efficiency group, supporting the implementation of our programs.

 

Position Summary

The Senior Program Manager will manage specialized third-party energy efficiency program contracts and deliverables. The team develops and manages programs that interface with some of our largest energy-consuming customers to our smallest business owners within disadvantaged communities.  These are high-touch programs that require the ability to resolve extremely technical issues.

 

The successful candidate will manage overall program performance and ensure compliance with regulatory deliverables and work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to support the operation of energy efficiency programs.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The preferred work location is Oakland, CA. 

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.  

Pay range: $102,000.00 - $145,200.00

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of third-party energy efficiency program contracts and deliverables, including but not limited to:
  • Evaluate program performance, strategize cross-functionally for program cost-effectiveness consistent with market indicators
  • Accurately estimate and forecast Total System Benefit (TSB) and financial forecasts/accruals based on project delivery and program participant information
  • Coordinate with Energy Efficiency policy and reporting teams to ensure project reporting is accurate in comparison to project records within EI
  • Manage program documentation, invoicing and contract changes when needed
  • Identify processes needing improvement and work toward change management with the team and vendors
  • Provide program-level deliverables  for regulatory filings such as Portfolio Plan Applications and Mid-Cycle Advice Letters
  • Participate in the evaluation of Energy Efficiency program solicitations
  • Ensures compliance with all safety/regulatory/company requirements
  • Other tasks as necessary

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 6 years of job related experience 

 

Desired:

  • Experience with Energy Efficiency programs
  • Project Management and Contract Management experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to effectively communicate with leadership and support organizations
  • Strong ability to take the initiative to work independently to achieve desired results
  • Experience working cross-functionally to deliver projects with numerous stakeholders
  • Experience in knowledge management and process improvement projects, including the ability to build and refine processes from scratch in an environment with rapidly evolving requirements
  • Experience performing analysis on large data sets
  • Understanding of Evaluation, Measurement and Verification (EM&V) concepts
  • Knowledge of EE and/or Demand Side Management programs
  • Management of regulatory compliance, planning, and reporting activities
  • Knowledge/experience of financing operations, accruals, and analysis
  • Experience managing budgets and contracts
  • Comfortable operating or learning to operate internal tracking systems such as SAP, Ariba, Salesforce, etc.
