Department Overview

The Engineering Planning and Strategy (EP&S) Business Operations function is responsible for the strategic planning, business management processes, budgeting, engagement and communications, performance measurement, overall governance and Lean operating model implementation for the EP&S functional area. The team will work together to oversee and lead complex projects and key initiatives for the immediate office of the Executive Vice President, EP&S, executing on plans and coordinating meetings, activities, and communications that may occur between PG&E Corporation, PG&E Utility, multiple lines of business (LOBs), other departments and external organizations. 

Job Summary

We have three Principal Program Manager positions available. The Engagement position will manage and implement executive and team engagements including internal and external events and activities. The Communications position will manage and implement EP&S internal and external communications program. The Culture position will manage EP&S Culture program implementation and operations.

The Principal Program Managers will report to the Director of Engagement and Communications.

The positions will be hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The preferred work location is Oakland, CA. 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

 

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $140,000.00

Bay Area Maximum: $238,000.00

 

Job Responsibilities

·         Manage, plan, execute and support EP&S internal and external events and activities (e.g. leadership meetings, All Coworker Calls)

·         Prepare executive engagement briefing materials.

·         Staff executive at engagements including onsite visits and events.

·         Manage EP&S internal and external communications.

·         Write executive communications including talking points, emails, social media, intranet content, etc.

·         Enhance EP&S branding and storytelling using internal and external communication channels.

·         Manage deliverables for and lead EP&S Culture programs including Joy, Safety and Talent Development.

·         Manage and expand EP&S Culture Committee and activities.

·         Plan EP&S-wide engagements and major cross-functional projects and initiatives.

·         Participate in Company-wide Culture related meetings and present updates on behalf of EP&S.

·         Lead development of program goals and metrics to meet company goals and objectives.  Collaborate across the organization to ensure alignment of goals to support program. 

·         May manage major cross-functional projects and initiatives. 

·         Responsible for utilizing other departments and teams to meet program goals. 

·         Demonstrate strategic leadership with internal stakeholders to support Company goals.

·         Solve unique and complex problems, anticipating issues and developing innovative solutions.

·         Coach and mentor less experienced employees.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

·         Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience

·         10 years of related experience or equivalent

·         Will require some travel. Occasional need for flexible/long hours.

Desired:

·         Master’s degree

·         PMP-Project Management Professional certification

·         Experience writing for and staffing a corporate executive or leader.
