Department Overview

 

The Cybersecurity Organization helps protect PG&E’s people, digital assets, and data from malicious actors by assessing cybersecurity risk across the enterprise, building and administering protective digital controls, and monitoring and responding to cybersecurity events and incidents
 

Position Summary

 

The Principal Program Manager will be responsible to leverage PG&E’s Lean Performance Playbook to organize and operate a lean operating command center leveraging visual management and metrics to highlight cybersecurity risk across the business and drive risk reduction activities. This program is known as the CyberFit program. The position will report to the Vice President of Cybersecurity at PG&E. 

 

The successful candidate should have strong communication skills, leadership skills and preferably a background in Lean Management. The successful candidate will be looked upon not only to execute the command center, but also to provide thought leadership in what KPIs and KRIs to focus on and drive performance in based on the need. This position will need to lead through influence.

 

This role is hybrid, working from your remote office and in-person at the Oakland General Office 1-2 days per week currently. Occasionally, your presence to other Bay Area locations may be required.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.  

 

A reasonable salary range is:​

 

Bay Area Minimum:      $140,000

Bay Area Maximum:     $238,000

 

 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Serves as member of Cybersecurity leadership team
  • Demonstrates strategic leadership with internal stakeholders to support Company goals.
  • Leads development of program goals and metrics to meet company goals and objectives. Collaborates across organization to ensure alignment of goals to support program.
  • Provides strategic and tactical leadership for the CyberFIT program
  • Solicits and manage stakeholders for continued engagement
  • Creates and manage CyberFIT and governance council charters
  • Works with Cyber and other business leaders to identify and select breakthrough initiatives to track through CyberFIT Command Center Weekly Operating Review (WOR)
  • Partners with PG&E Lean team for best practices, performance evaluation of CyberFIT Command Center WOR and adjustments based on learnings
  • Manages backlog of risk-ranked items to bring into view
  • Partners with General Counsel team on preparing status for initiatives surfaced as top items to solve as identified by external counsel
  • Works with Cyber Risk team to quantify the risk score impact for each of the initiatives tracked at CyberFIT Command WOR
  • Builds and conducts x-functional virtual CyberFIT Command Daily Operating Reviews (DORs) for various initiatives
  • Serves as point of contact for explanation and/or follow-up of items in the CyberFIT Command
  • Coaches and mentors less experienced employees
  • Solves unique and complex problems, anticipating issues and developing innovative solutions

 

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum:

 

  • Bachelor’s (BA/BS) degree or equivalent work experience
  • 10 years of related experience

 

Desired:

 

  • Master’s degree
  • PMP certification
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Ability to use understanding of the business to help drive strategic decision making, and to recommend operational improvements
  • Ability to lead the largest most complex projects across the line of business supported (i.e. Customer Care, Human Resources, etc.)
  • Deep knowledge and expertise of lean management principles
  • Ability to lead large and complex projects working with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to create compelling business cases based on complex business environments and inputs
  • Adept at addressing issues with diplomacy and tact
