Department Overview
The Electric Safety and Compliance Strategy department provides safety and compliance oversight for Electric Transmission, Substation, Distribution, System Inspections and Undergrounding. The Electric Operations Safety Excellence team partners with the Enterprise Health and Safety (EH&S) team to provide strategic guidance to improve our safety culture and performance.
Position Summary
Manages aspects of program development, implementation, and operations, focused on providing safety support to Electric Grassroots Safety Teams (GRST). Oversees administration of projects requiring advanced organizational skills, critical thinking skills, a background in project management, GRST functions, Electric Operations, Lean Implementation and safety. Collaborate with Electric Grassroots Chairs, Coaches, Sponsors, key stakeholders, EH&S partners, and applicable subject matter experts (SMEs).
Supports GRST’s by:
- Tracking action items and coordinating SMEs to accomplish goals of the Electric GRSTs
- Ensure accurate directory of Electric GRST membership (local, regional, FA; members, safety leads, co-chairs, chairs, coach, sponsor)
- Ensure meetings/events are on the Electric GRST calendar of meetings
- Collaborating with the Enterprise GRST and Regional Safety partners to ensure alignment
- Escalating actions to the Electric Safety Council as appropriate
- Support overall organization of team objectives and communications
- Facilitating sub-committee meetings to drive meeting structure and continued improvement
- Managing other responsibilities as assigned.
The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory and will be agreed upon by the successful candidate and hiring leader.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and assigned location based on business needs.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area) $ 122,000.00
Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area) $ 194,000.00
OR
Minimum Base Salary (California) $ 116,000.00
Maximum Base Salary (California) $ 184,000.00

- Responsible for utilizing other departments and teams to meet program goals
- Organizes and leads project teams to influence safety program direction and decisions
- Travel will be required to attend in-person GRST meetings as well as in-person meetings related to overall duties.
- Develops or provides significant input to PG&E leadership
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business.
- 8 years of related experience or equivalent
Desired:
- Two years professional experience in Safety
- 10 years program management experience
- Advanced communication skills at all levels of the organization (verbal and written)
- Advanced organizational skills
- Able to facilitate/lead meetings
- Comfortable with public speaking
- Willing to be coached
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
- Ability to use understanding of the business to help drive strategic decision making, and to recommend operational improvements
- Ability to lead the largest most complex projects across the Electric line of business.
- Deep knowledge and expertise of business and or industry drivers
- Ability to lead large and complex projects working with cross-functional teams
- Ability to create compelling business cases based on complex business environments and inputs
- Adept at addressing issues with diplomacy and tact
- Experience working with vendors and supply chain
- American Society of Quality Certification (Quality Engineer, Quality Auditor, or CMQ-OE)
- Strong analytical problem solving and decision-making ability
- PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification
