The Procurement Organization includes a staff of more than two hundred sourcing managers, buyers, analysts, and supplier diversity personnel. Position Summary

 

The Chief Program Manager oversees the implementation and operations of key programs at PG&E. This role will help improve efficiencies, supplier performance, communication, and collaboration. The Chief Program Manager manages vendor relationships, provides direction to external partners, and collaborates with internal teams to develop and execute program strategies.

 

Key responsibilities include collaborating with colleagues across the organization to support demand planning and develop category plans, helping develop LOB strategies, and assisting with supplier management. This role works closely with both the Line of Business (LOB), Strategic Sourcing, and Materials. Strong collaboration with internal and external stakeholders ensures continuous improvement and long-term program success. 

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work headquarters in Oakland.

 

 

Reporting Relationship

 

The Chief Program Manager will report to the Senior Director of Electric/Veg Procurement.

 

 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Recognized subject matter expert who represents PG&E in regulatory and/or industry forums on subject of expertise.
  • May manage major cross functional projects and initiatives.
  • Maintains Leadership-level relationships to discuss strategy and status of work efforts.
  • Recommends and implements process and business changes to accomplish program goals.
  • Program owner who is individually responsible for its success.
  • Responsible for program ownership of one or more programs which require complex interface with customers, regulatory agencies, or programs which have the ability to greatly affect PG&E’s business.

  • Leads development of program goals and metrics to meet company goals and objectives.
  • Organizes and leads cross-utility project teams to influence utility, regulatory and/or industry decisions.

Compensation

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

 

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $ 159,000

Bay Area Maximum: $ 271,000

 

 

 

Background Qualifications

 

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 12 years of related experience or equivalent

 

Desired

  • Master’s degree preferred; MA/MS or MBA degree
  • PMP Certification
  • Travel may be required.
  • Ability to use understanding of the business to help drive strategic decision making, and to recommend operational improvements.
  • Ability to lead the largest most complex projects across the line of business supported.
  • Deep knowledge and expertise of business and or industry drivers.
  • Ability to lead large and complex projects working with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to create compelling business cases based on complex business environments and inputs.
  • Adept at addressing issues with diplomacy and tact.
