Department Overview

PG&E’s Energy Policy and Procurement (EPP) organization manages electric and gas procurement to ensure reliable supply (i.e., meet the gas and electric needs of our customers 24 hours a day), reduces customer costs and price risk, minimizes shareholder risk, and supports environmentally preferred resources.

 

EPP's Settlements Information and Market Implementation (SIMI) team is part of the Contract Management, Settlements, and Reporting (CMSR) department.  SIMI is responsible for meter data management, system implementation of market initiatives and energy procurement programs, energy settlement systems management, and data governance.

 

Position Summary

The position will be primary be responsible for capturing business requirements, business process, priorities, solutions development, and presenting the solution to a software delivery team and client for commitment and execution under the energy procurement and data governance space.

 

The position will focus on energy contract management system and data management systems implementation.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The preferred work location is Oakland, CA. 

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

 

A reasonable salary range is:​

Bay Area Minimum: $90,000

Bay Area Maximum: $136,000

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  1. Interacts regularly and act as a primary point of contact with various departments within Energy Procurement, Market Risk, Accounting, and IT organization to (1) communicate issues regarding daily operations and (2) assess business and system impacts to ensure system reliability
  2. Assist in project planning, requirement gathering and release planning, demos and other system related meetings

  3. Actively own the prioritization of a clearly understood product area backlog aligned to product area vision and goals

  4. Clearly articulates product decisions to users, the product team, and stakeholders

  5. Conducts post-launch user feedback sessions to support continuous improvement

  6. Works with the development teams to clarify business stories and provide detail needed to estimate and execute planned work.

  7. Manage demo and UAT sessions with the client to ensure work performed by the team meets their expectations.

  8. Oversees systems changes and development of standard operating procedures and process documentation.

  9. Ensures all business processes, controls, and process documentation are appropriate and updated to meet compliance requirements

  10. Participates in negotiation of contracts and contractual changes, including coordinating preparation of proposals, business plans, work statements, operational budgets, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts to ensure legal compliance and to protect organizations interests.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

 

  • High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
  • Job-related experience, 2 years

 

Desired:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Agile Certification
  • Knowledge of energy market design or utility experience especially related to California markets and Energy Procurement
  • Excellent oral communication and writing skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to various audiences (technical colleagues, senior management)
  • Excellence analytical/problem resolution skills
  • Attention to detail and understanding of key drivers affecting business results, sometimes with limited information/data
  • Ability to manage team and personal dynamics to drive projects forward
  • Ability to lead complex project meetings
  • Self-directed, team player, focused on delivering high quality results consistently and on a timely basis
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives
  • Ability to provide new perspectives/approaches on existing tasks/solutions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Project, Visio or similar software
  • Knowledge and experience large-scale data architecture, master data management, data quality and data reconciliation efforts and similar projects or programs of significant complexity
  • Proficient on querying and extracting data from repositories such as Oracle, SQL Server, snowflake
  • Knowledge of Lean
