Department Overview
The Electric Transmission Engineering and Estimating team is responsible for oversight of project and maintenance engineering work for PG&E transmission lines.  The PG&E Electric Transmission System consists of over 18,000 circuit miles and over 150,000 structures.  The Department executes a design role for both regular maintenance work, planned program work, and general asset improvement projects.

Position Summary
This position will guide the integration of Engineering and Estimating expertise into rapidly evolving asset initiatives that will support the future of PSPS as well as SAP/PLS-CADD materials traceability integration.  These efforts are focused on maintaining compliance with our regulations and providing state of the art software and system architecture solutions ensuring high quality data for both local and system wide analytics. 

Core responsibilities: 
•    Asset Management -- Engineering Center of Excellence – T-Line Engineering Liaison - Maintain program compatibility with Engineering Standards
•    PLS-CADD utilization & Model Standardization - Technical lead for the STEP and TSS programs; Curate approved engineering seed/template files; Oversee material/SAP integration and the migration to PLS-CADD; Create and maintain PLS Specifications; Work with Standards group to create new standards; Represent PG&E at industry meetings that relate to PLS-CADD (ATUG, SEI, DistribuTECH, IEEE, etc.)
•    Standardized central Asset Repository - Lead the creation and maintenance of a repository of PLS-CADD models that represent PG&E’s entire transmission system.
•    Design Integrated Construction Deliverables - Standardize an IFC package between Engineering and Estimating for uniform experience by field personnel; Create a standard for electronic delivery of packages; Increase utilization of PLS-CADD capabilities to automate more deliverables; Leverage technology to get real time feedback on design and construction issues from the field.
•    Software – Lead the evaluation of new software for T-Line engineering and create the business case to trial/develop/establish/maintain and ensure that PG&E is an industry leader in technological applications.
•    Tower Replacement Program - Facilitate development of tools and data sources for tower evaluations and priority decisions for replacement; Integrate tower evaluation parameters and data to replace current model assumptions

This position is available in Oakland, Fresno or W. Sacramento. Travel of about 10-15% will be required.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

A reasonable salary range is:
•    Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area)    $140,000.00
•    Mid Base Salary (Bay Area)    $189,000.00
•    Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area)    $238,000.00

•    Minimum Base Salary (California)    $133,000.00
•    Mid Base Salary (California)    $180,000.00
•    Maximum Base Salary (California)    $226,000.00

Responsibilities:

•    Lead cross-functional teams of initiative stakeholders including engineers, designers, estimators, mappers and technical SME’s.
•    Provide open and honest communication of company objectives and initiatives. Foster team work, innovation, and embrace new approaches to accomplish our work more efficiently and effectively. 
•    Actively promote safe practices and conduct in accordance with the Corporate Safety policy.  Ensure a safe work environment and manage overall safety for the group. Review safety topics at regular group meetings and complete all mandated safety training on time. Accomplish the department goal of zero injuries & avoidable auto incidents
•    Plan a visible, stable and long-term production schedule. Assign individual & team assignments to balance project requirements with resource availability. Plan for internal workload and recommend workload to be contracted. Ensure delivery of high-quality design products on budget, on time and on purpose.
•    Develop a maintain an effective relationship with initiative supporting contractors.
•    Provide leadership to assure the contractors develop and complete the initiative scope within budget and schedule.

Qualifications
Required:
•    10 years of related working experience 
•    Bachelor's degree or equivalent working experience

Desired:
•    Professional Engineer’s license (Civil, Mechanical or Electrical)
•    At least 5 years of leadership experience 
•    Transmission or Substation engineering, design or construction experience 
•    Extensive knowledge of PG&E standards and design processes
•    Extensive knowledge of PLS-CADD, AutoCAD or MicroStation 
•    Familiarity with contracting process
•    Familiarity with ESC union roles and responsibilities
•    Expert experience level in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
