Department Overview

The Marketing & Communications organization is responsible for developing and delivering clear, consistent, and effective communications to customers and internal stakeholders. As the team adopts AI‑enabled tools, it is focused on improving efficiency, consistency, and insight generation across customer communications.

 

Position Summary

The Marketing & Communications AI Agent Intern will support the design, testing, and documentation of AI‑enabled workflows that improve how customer communications are created, reviewed, analyzed, and reported.

The intern will help automate repetitive tasks, standardize Copilot prompts and agents, improve intake and reporting workflows, and surface insights from campaigns. This role provides hands‑on experience applying AI tools in a production enterprise environment.

 

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $20.88 to $36.42

 

Job Responsibilities

Design and prototype AI agents that auto‑populate intake forms from raw inputs such as campaign briefs, creative review requests, and intake submissions.

Map intake fields to data sources and define basic validation rules to improve consistency and data quality.

Create fillable templates and Copilot prompts that generate complete first‑draft documents for review.

Summarize campaign trends on a weekly and monthly cadence, including performance highlights, messaging effectiveness, audience response, and anomalies.

Build and maintain a structured campaign database capturing objectives, channels, creative approaches, results, and lessons learned.

Track AI‑enabled features to identify emerging patterns, effective practices, and near‑term innovations.

Support documentation of AI‑enabled communication workflows, including governance, escalation paths, tone guidelines, and rollout plans.

Draft internal communications and training materials to support onboarding and adoption of new agents and toolkits.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Currently enrolled full-time in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in marketing, communications, business, information systems, data analytics, or a related field.

Students must be continuing education toward their degree during and/or after the internship in a full-time capacity.

Strong written communication and editing skills.

Basic familiarity with Copilot or similar AI interfaces.

Comfort working with spreadsheets and simple databases (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, SharePoint).

Analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize information into clear summaries and insights.

 

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with low‑code or no‑code tools.

Basic familiarity with SQL, data visualization, or reporting tools.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
