Position Summary 

PG&E is seeking an experienced business professional to lead the BI-Analytics and Insights Team.  

 

PG&E is seeking an experienced leader to manage the BI - Analytics and Insights Team within Electric Risk and Compliance. As the Manager of  BI – Analytics and Insights, you will lead a high performing team responsible for translating complex compliance, risk, and operational data into clear, decisionready insights and visual management that enable leadership action. 

 

This role sets the direction for analytics and visual management, ensuring disciplined execution, data integrity, and strong governance. The Manager partners closely with Compliance, Governance, Operations, Risk, Regulatory Affairs, and Data & Tools teams to align insights, surface risks, and support timely, riskinformed decisionmaking. Success requires strong executive communication, the ability to influence across matrixed organizations, and a collaborative leadership approach.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

 

A reasonable salary range is:

Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area)            $140,000.00

Mid Base Salary (Bay Area)        $189,000.00

Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area)           $238,000.00

 

Minimum Base Salary (California)         $133,000.00

Mid Base Salary (California)      $180,000.00

Maximum Base Salary (California)        $226,000.00

 

Responsibilities 

Set Direction & Deliver Results 

  • Establish and execute an analytics and insights strategy aligned with Electric Risk and Compliance priorities, regulatory expectations, and PG&E’s safety culture. 
  • Translate strategy into clear priorities, roadmaps, and decision‑ready outcomes for leaders. 
  • Balance near‑term execution with long‑term capability building to advance analytics maturity. 

 

Communicate with Clarity & Impact 

  • Translate complex compliance, risk, and operational analytics into clear, concise, and actionable insights for senior leaders. 
  • Frame insights around business impact, risk, tradeoffs, and recommended actions to support timely decisions. 
  • Adapt messaging and visuals to diverse technical and non‑technical audiences. 

 

Collaborate & Influence Across Enterprise 

  • Build strong partnerships across Compliance, Governance, Operations, Risk, Regulatory Affairs, Law, and Data & Tools teams. 
  • Lead cross‑functional reviews and discussions that surface risks, resolve misalignment, and drive shared accountability. 
  • Influence outcomes across matrixed organizations through credibility, disciplined analysis, and inclusive collaboration. 

 

 Advance Analytics, AI & Visual Management 

  • Lead the responsible application of advanced analytics and AI‑enabled insights to identify emerging risks and trends. 
  • Ensure analytics and AI use aligns with regulatory, ethical, and data governance standards. 
  • Oversee dashboards and visual management tools that highlight leading indicators, risks, and clear calls to action. 

 

Develop People & Ensure Integrity 

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing team of analysts and visualization professionals. 
  • Build capability in analytics, storytelling, collaboration, and executive presence. 
  • Ensure data integrity, transparency, and audit readiness through strong governance and standards.  

 

 

Qualifications 

Minimum: 

  • BA/BS in Business, Analytics, Engineering, or related field. 
  • 8 years of experience with electric utility or related programs.  
  • 5 years of experience as a program or project manager. 

 

Desired: 

  • Master’s degree in a technical or legal field. 
  • 10+ years of experience in compliance, analytics, or performance reporting, including 3+ years in leadership roles. 
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex compliance, risk, and operational data into clear, actionable insights for senior and executive leaders. 
  • Strong executive communication and storytelling skills, with experience influencing decisions through concise narratives and effective visualizations. 
  • Proven collaborator with the ability to build trust and influence outcomes across matrixed, cross‑functional organizations. 
  • Experience leading and developing high‑performing analytics or insights teams, including coaching on communication, stakeholder engagement, and executive presence. 
  • Advanced proficiency in BI and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and strong presentation design skills. 
  • Experience applying advanced analytics and/or AI‑enabled insights in a responsible, well‑governed manner. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to data integrity, governance, and audit‑ready analytics. 
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (FSG, COSO, NIST, SOX) and regulatory bodies (CPUC, FERC, WECC).

Certification and Licenses Desired: 

  • Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) 
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification. 
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
