Position Summary

 

The VM Product Management Leader is an integral partner and liaison between the line of Vegetation Management business operations and Information Technology regarding technology strategy, planning, and decisions. Incumbents understand and represent user needs and business content, procedures, processes, and systems for the business unit(s). The incumbent will supervise teams that partner with business process owners and systems end users to define system requirements, provide user support, coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) of new tools, and consult with the business on new technologies and features that contribute to business process efficiencies. The incumbent will supervise/manage and lead a team representing user needs in developing functional specifications for Information Technology or other development teams. The incumbent will have lead an Agile team in a DevOps environment 

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
 

A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $132,000
Bay Area Maximum: $ 226,000
&/OR
California Minimum: $125,000
California Maximum: $ 215,000

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

This position is hybrid. You will work from your remote office and your assigned location based on business needs.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

•    Consults with business process owners regarding user needs.
•    May be assigned to one extensive, complex business application or multiple smaller, less complex systems.
•    Leads team to gather, analyze, and document business requirements for complex projects.
•    Governs end-to-end complex business processes and coordinates with IT to develop and implement solutions to information needs.
•    Anticipates, identifies, and fully meets the business needs by understanding the current and future business environment.
•    Anticipates concerns and questions, and provides proactive, timely, and professional communications or delegates as appropriate
•    Consults with business process owners on the impact(s) of technical changes to collective business processes. Leads user acceptance testing (UAT) or functional testing. Ensures timely completion and quality validation with users.
•    Ensures proactive, timely, and professional communications regarding system status or enhancements to users.
•    May perform or lead feasibility analysis, business case development, develop project scope, and provide recommendations on alternative solutions, project strategy, and deliverable prioritization.
•    Develops and maintains metrics for assigned systems/tools or project(s).
•    May have oversight for end-user training for the assigned system.
•    Participates as a key contributor to steering committees with a line of business and IT teams that define, review, and approve requirements for enhancements.
•    Provides leadership on the business analysis work that is strategically crucial for the corresponding IT organization.
•    Manages team to accomplish results through recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, and rewards and recognition.
•    Develops and maintains DevOps standards for complete support of Product development features
•    Develop strategies to identify product optimizations 

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

 

•    BA/BS in Business, Engineering, Computer Science/Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
•    10 years of job-related experience in Business, IT, Engineering, and/or related education.

 

Desired:

 

•    Advanced degree
•    7+ years in DevOps and/or Agile experience.
•    Knowledge of SAFe practices
•    Experience leading Projects or DevOps team
•    Ability to develop KPIs for team 
•    Expert knowledge of the business requirements process.
•    Leadership and coaching skills.
•    Detail-oriented, analytical, good oral and written communication skills.
•    Strong project management skills.
•    Expert-level knowledge of the utility business and multiple corresponding lines of business-related functional areas.
•    Ability to work with and/or lead different teams across disciplines and levels, and promote a good working environment.
•    Strong understanding of the department's business processes (s) supported and the impact(s) of technical changes to the collective business processes across functional units.
•    Understanding the development and implementation of work management and scheduling systems and processes.
•    Knowledge of Salesforce, SAP, and/or GIS
•    Ability to contribute to or develop business cases.
